Abstract
A transaction service provider under control of the computing facility provides access to one or more databases of patient healthcare information in three ways. First, via a secure interface, the healthcare provider can access a confidential first portion and a non-confidential second portion of the one or more databases. Second, via a patient interface, a plurality of patients can access the second portion of the one or more databases, wherein the confidential first portion is maintained as secure with respect to the plurality of patients. And third, access is provided to a portion of the confidential first portion of the one or more databases to a patient of the plurality of patients based on healthcare provider consent to provide access to the patient.

1 . A system, comprising:
a computing facility comprising a processor and a non-transient computer memory; one or more databases of healthcare provider-specific patient information, under control of the computing facility and stored in the non-transient computer memory, including patient personal information, account information corresponding to one or more healthcare accounts associated with a patient, and transactional information corresponding to a plurality of healthcare transactions conducted by a patient; and a transaction service provider under control of the computing facility that provides access to the one or more databases of patient healthcare information as follows: via a secure interface, the healthcare provider can access a confidential first portion and a non-confidential second portion of the one or more databases; via a patient interface, a plurality of patients can access the second portion of the one or more databases, wherein the confidential first portion is maintained as secure with respect to the plurality of patients; and access is provided to a portion of the confidential first portion of the one or more databases to a patient of the plurality of patients based on healthcare provider consent to provide access to the patient.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the healthcare provider consent to provide access is limited in duration.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the healthcare provider is selected from the group consisting of a doctor, a pharmacist and a hospital.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the account information comprises information related to a patient.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the transactional information comprises information regarding care of a patient.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the healthcare provider consent to provide access is provided in association with obtaining a service from the healthcare provider.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is configured to update a medical history of the patient.
8 . A method of administering patient healthcare information, comprising:
generating, controlling and storing one or more databases of patient healthcare information, in a non-transient computer readable memory with a computing facility having a processor, the non-transient computer readable memory, and a network port;
the one or more databases of patient healthcare information comprising patient personal information, account information corresponding to one or more healthcare accounts associated with a patient, and transactional information corresponding to a plurality of healthcare transactions conducted by the patient;
facilitating secure access by a healthcare provider to a confidential first portion and a non-confidential second portion of the one or more databases via the network port; facilitating access by a plurality of patients to the second portion of the one or more databases; maintaining as secure the confidential first portion of the one or more databases as secure with respect to the plurality of patients; deriving selected information from information stored in the first portion of the one or more databases of patient healthcare information; and providing access to the selected information to a patient of the plurality of patients based on a healthcare provider consent to provide access to the patient.
9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising the computing facility compiling a health profile for the patient.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein compiling the health profile for the patient comprises conducting hospital interactions.
11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein compiling the health profile for the patient comprises at least two of updating medical history, bill payments, medical insurance, HMO interactions, emergency services, interactions with insurance companies, drug stores, and pharmacies.
12 . A system, comprising:
a computing facility comprising a processor and a non-transient computer memory; one or more databases of healthcare provider-specific patient information, under control of the computing facility and stored in the non-transient computer memory, including patient personal information, account information corresponding to one or more healthcare accounts associated with a patient, and transactional information corresponding to a plurality of healthcare transactions conducted by a patient; and a transaction service provider server that provides access to the one or more databases of patient healthcare information as follows: via a secure interface, the healthcare provider can access a confidential first portion and a non-confidential second portion of the one or more databases; via a patient interface, a plurality of patients can access the second portion of the one or more databases, wherein the confidential first portion is maintained as secure with respect to the plurality of patients; and access is provided to a portion of the confidential first portion of the one or more databases to a patient of the plurality of patients based on healthcare provider consent to provide access to the patient.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
