Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention include a sealable kit having a sterile removable covering sealed over a sterile first well and a non-sterile foldable flap cover over one or more medicament wells. The foldable flap cover may be opened and closed independently of the sterile removable cover permitting the packaging to be opened to allow the removal of expired medications without opening the sterile covering over the first well. In another embodiment, the foldable flap cover is at least partially transparent so medications within the medicament well may be viewed when the foldable flap is in the closed position.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . A medical kit, comprising in combination:
a tray with a top surface; at least two wells in said tray below said top surface, including a first well and a second well; a first removable cover located over said first well and sealing said first well closed; and said first removable cover not extending over said second well, such that accessing said second well does not require disturbing said first removable cover.

2 . The medical kit of claim 1 wherein a second removable cover is located overlying said second well.

3 . The medical kit of claim 2 wherein said second removable cover is resealable after transitioning from a sealed closed position to an open position, for returning of said second well to said sealed closed position.

4 . The medical kit of claim 1 wherein said second well contains a medicament container therein.

5 . The medical kit of claim 4 wherein said second removable cover is at least partially transparent to facilitate viewing of said medicament container through said second removable cover.

6 . The medical kit of claim 5 wherein a medical apparatus is located within said first well.

7 . The medical kit of claim 6 wherein said medical apparatus within said first well is an infuser.

8 . The medical kit of claim 7 wherein said infuser is configured to be coupleable to said medicament container within said second well when said medicament container is removed from said second well and said infuser is removed from said first well, said infuser coupled to said medicament container in a manner drawing medicament from said medicament container through said infuser for infusion into a patient.

9 . A method for packaging a medical apparatus and a medicament container together for storage before use of the medical apparatus and the medicament container together, the method including the steps of:
providing a tray with a top surface and at least two wells extending below the top surface, the at least two wells including a first well and a second well, and with a first removable cover located over and sealing the first well closed, the removable first cover not located over the second well; locating a medical apparatus within the first well and sealed below the first removable cover; locating a medicament container within the second well; and removing the first removable cover, removing the medical apparatus from the first well, removing the medicament container from the second well, and utilizing the medical apparatus with the medicament container.

10 . The method of claim 9 including the further step of replacing the medicament container with a second medicament container placed into the second well, and using the medical apparatus with the second medicament container.

         11 . The method of  claim 10  wherein said replacing step includes viewing indicia on the first medicament container located within the first well;
making a determination that the medicament within the first medicament container is not appropriate for use; and
replacing the first medicament container with the second medicament container which contains medicament which is determined to be appropriate for use.

12 . The method of claim 11 wherein indicia on the first medicament container is in the form of a date associated with a date of manufacture of medicament within the first medicament container, and wherein a determination as to suitability of medicament within the first medicament container is based at least partially on an age of medicament within the first medicament container.

13 . The method of claim 12 wherein the first medicament container is sealed within the first well by a resealable second cover overlying the second well.

14 . The method of claim 13 wherein said method includes the further step of viewing a date associated with an age of the first medicament within the first medicament container through the at least partially transparent resealable cover, opening the resealable cover, replacing the first medicament container with the second medicament container and resealing the second cover over the second well.
