Abstract

A toy apparatus includes a body portion including a mesh component formed of a plurality of loop structures, each loop structure defining a loop opening, and at least one non-mesh component or accessory connected to the mesh component of the body to allow articulation of the non-mesh component with respect to the mesh component of the body.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A toy apparatus comprising:
a toy body at least partially comprising a mesh component; and at least one accessory adapted to be connected to the mesh component of the toy body and allow articulation of the accessory relative to the toy body.

2 . The toy apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the accessory comprises an attachment knob adapted to be received and retained in an aperture of the mesh component to allow articulation of the accessory relative to the toy body.

3 . The toy apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the connection of the accessory to the toy body allows detachment of the accessory from the toy body without damaging the accessory or the toy body.

4 . The toy apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the mesh component comprises a mounting hub for receiving a fastener to attach the accessory to the toy body.

5 . The toy apparatus of claim a, wherein the at least one accessory comprises a non-mesh component.

6 . The toy apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the toy body further comprises a non-mesh component attached to the mesh component.

7 . The toy apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the toy apparatus has the form of a character, wherein the toy body forms at least a portion of a body of the character, and wherein the accessory comprises an appendage selected from a neck, a head, an arm, a leg, and a tail.

8 . The toy apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the character is a dinosaur.

9 . The toy apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the character is a robot.

10 . The toy apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a child's finger can be inserted into a void at least partially bounded by the mesh component.

11 . The toy apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the mesh component is formed of a flexible and resilient polymeric material.

12 . The toy apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the mesh component defines a three-dimensional curved structure selected from at least partially spherical, hemispherical, and ovoid configurations.

13 . The toy apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the mesh component and the accessory have differing colors.

14 . The toy apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the mesh component and the accessory have differing tactile characteristics.

15 . A toy apparatus comprising a combined structure formed of at least one mesh portion and at least one non-mesh portion, the mesh portion comprising a plurality of interconnected loop structures, and the non-mesh portion adapted to be articulable with respect to the mesh portion, wherein a child's finger can be inserted into a void at least partially bounded by the mesh portion through the interconnected loop structures of the mesh portion.

16 . The toy apparatus of claim 15 , having the form of a creature selected from an animal, a dinosaur and a robot.

17 . The toy apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the mesh portion comprises a toy body and the non-mesh portion comprises an appendage pivotally attached to the toy body.

18 . The toy apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the mesh portion comprises a mounting hub, and wherein the non-mesh portion is semi-permanently attached to the mounting hub by a fastener.

19 . The toy apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the non-mesh portion comprises an attachment knob configured to be press-fit into an aperture of the mesh portion.

20 . The toy apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the attachment knob allows detachable and interchangeably coupling of the non-mesh portion to the mesh portion.

         21 . A toy apparatus comprising:
a body portion at least partially formed of a flexible mesh material defining a plurality of apertures therein; and an articulable appendage at least partially formed of a non-mesh material, the articulable appendage being movably mounted to the flexible mesh material of the body portion.

22 . The toy apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the articulable appendage comprises an attachment knob configured for engagement within one of the apertures of the mesh material to mount the appendage to the body portion.

23 . The toy apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the flexible mesh material of the body portion comprises a mounting hub, to which the articulable appendage is fastened.

24 . The toy apparatus of claim 21 , taking the form of a creature selected from an animal and a robot.

25 . The toy apparatus of claim 24 , wherein the creature is a dinosaur.
