Claims

Abstract

An anti-corrosion substance configured for application to surfaces of materials to prevent corrosion of those materials and a method for applying the anti-corrosion substance to surfaces. In a preferred embodiment, the anti-corrosion substance is configured for being sprayed on a surface, but in other embodiments, the substance may be applied with a brush or roller. The present invention provides excellent adhesion and resists water, acids, salt brines, and other corrosive substances and elements.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is: 
     
         1 . An anti-corrosion substance comprising:
 solvents; and   saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons.   
     
     
         2 . The anti-corrosion substance according to  claim 1  comprising:
 70-75% 1-bromopropane (CAS No. 106-94-5); 
 less than or equal to 0.1% nitromethane (CAS No. 75-52-5); and 
 less than or equal to 0.1% ethyloxirane (CAS No. 106-88-7). 
 
     
     
         3 . An anti-corrosion treatment method comprising the steps of:
 applying a mixture of solvents and saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons to a material subject to corrosion.   
     
     
         4 . The anti-corrosion treatment method according to  claim 3 , which includes the additional steps of:
 providing 70-75% 1-bromopropane (CAS No. 106-94-5);   providing less than or equal to 0.1% nitromethane (CAS No. 75-52-5); and   providing less than or equal to 0.1% ethyloxirane (CAS No. 106-88-7).
