Abstract

Devices and methods for removal of animal hair are provided. The devices and methods can include one or more rotating bodies that form pinch regions for mechanical removal of animal hair.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A device for removal of hair or bristles from an animal, comprising:
a guide member having a substantially flat, rigid lower surface, and a leading forward edge, the leading forward edge having a bottom portion comprising a sharp angle and a top portion comprising a blunt curve directed away from the leading forward edge; and at least one gripping surface, wherein the gripping surface is rotatably mobile such that the gripping surface passes proximate to the blunt curve to form a pinch region between a top surface of the guide member and the gripping surface.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one gripping surface includes a plurality of gripping surfaces substantially equally spaced about an axis of rotation.

3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one gripping surface comprises a textured surface.

4 . The device of claim 3 , wherein the textured surface comprises a textured metal surface.

5 . The device of claim 4 , wherein the top surface of the guide member comprises a smooth metal surface.

6 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a power source operatively connected to at least one of the gripping surfaces to rotate the gripping surface.
