Abstract
A data storage device includes a nonvolatile memory device; and a controller suitable for controlling an operation of the nonvolatile memory device based on a request from a host device, wherein the controller includes a first core activated in a normal mode and a second core activated in a standby mode.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A data storage device comprising:
a nonvolatile memory device; and a controller suitable for controlling an operation of the nonvolatile memory device based on a request from a host, wherein the controller includes a first core and a second core each of which is activated or deactivated in different modes, wherein the first core performs both host-dependent jobs and host-independent jobs, and wherein the second core performs only host-independent jobs.
2 . The data storage device according to claim 1 , wherein the first core is activated in a normal mode and deactivated in a standby mode.
3 . The data storage device according to claim 2 , wherein the second core is activated in the standby mode and deactivated in the normal mode.
4 . The data storage device according to claim 2 , wherein the data storage device operates in the normal mode when there is a job requested from host, and operates in the standby mode when there is no job requested from the host.
5 . The data storage device according to claim 1 , wherein the host-dependent job includes a job for providing data read from the nonvolatile memory device to the host, or a job for storing data provided from the host in the nonvolatile memory device.
6 . The data storage device according to claim 1 , wherein the host-independent job includes a job for managing the nonvolatile memory device.Cited by (0)
