Abstract
Described herewithin is a composition comprising an anti-chafing balm with C18-36 acid triglycerides, capric/caprylic triglycerides, and tribehinin together with a chelated silver oxide complex comprising a barrier film when applied to the skin. The film is a dual purpose antibacterial and anti-chafing barrier topically applied to human skin, providing a layer of chelated silver oxide complex further comprised of a dermatologically acceptable carrier, with friction (chafe) reducing properties, selected from the group consisting of organic solutions, gels, liquids, balms, aerosols, emulsifiers, lotions, water-in-oil emulsions, oil-in-water emulsions, surfactants, aloe barbedensis leaf juice and tocopherol acetate.

1 . An antibacterial and anti-chafing barrier composition comprising both a chelated silver oxide complex and a balm, said balm comprising C18-C36 acid triglycerides, capric/caprylic triglycerides, tribehinin, and allantoin, and said chelated silver oxide complex comprising an alkaline based aqueous silver oxide solution complexed with a combination of chitosan and a carboxylic acid, wherein said silver oxide complex is provided in a concentration of between 0.1 and 5 weight percent of said antibacterial and anti-chafing barrier composition such that said balm provides a chafing reducing antibacterial effective layer incorporating said chelated silver oxide complex.
2 . The antibacterial and anti-chafing composition of claim 1 , wherein said carboxylic acid is citric acid.

The antibacterial and anti-chafing composition of claim 1 , further comprising a dermatologically acceptable carrier selected from the group consisting of organic solutions, gels, liquids, balms, sticks, aerosols, emulsifiers, lotions, water-in-oil emulsions, oil-in-water emulsions, surfactants, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, and tocopheryl acetate.
4 . The antibacterial and anti-chafing composition of claim 1 , wherein the antibacterial reducing effective amount of said chelated silver oxide complex ranges from about 0.5% to about 10% by weight of said composition and wherein said composition is also antimicrobial.
5 . The antibacterial and anti-chafing composition of claim 1 , wherein the antibacterial reducing effective amount of chelated silver oxide complex ranges from about 5% to about 30% by weight of said composition.
6 . The antibacterial and anti-chafing composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition is provided in the form of an aerosol, pump spray, liquid, roll-on, lotion, cream, gel, foam, powder, solid wand (stick), a bar, or embedded in a towel or wipe.

The antibacterial and anti-chafing composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is one of a stick consisting essentially of aloe barbadensis leaf juice, C18-C36 acid triglycerides, capric/caprylic triglycerides, tocopheryl acetate, tribehinin, allantoin, antioxidants, and a chelated silver oxide complex providing a film forming substance, wherein said chelated silver oxide complex is in an amount of between 0.1 to 5 wt. %.
8 . The antibacterial and anti-chafing composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is topically dispensed on the skin.
9 . The antibacterial and anti-chafing composition of claim 1 , comprising 0.1 to 5 wt. % chelated silver oxide complex and having an oxygen content from 0.2 to 2.5 wt %
10 . The antibacterial and anti-chafing composition of claim 1 , where the dermatologically acceptable carrier comprises a volatile silicone or a non-volatile silicone.
11 . A method of reducing bacteria on and chafing of human skin, comprising topically applying to human skin an antibacterial anti-chafing reducing effective amount of a composition containing 0.5% to about 5% by weight of said chelated silver oxide complex.

The method of claim 11 , wherein the composition further comprises a dermatologically acceptable anhydrous carrier vehicle, selected from the group consisting of organic solutions, gels, liquids, balms, aerosols, emulsifiers, lotions, water-in-oil emulsions, oil-in-water emulsions, and surfactants.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the composition upon topical application onto the skin, leaves a layer consisting essentially of chelated silver oxide complex in the form of a film.
14 . The method of creating an antibacterial silver oxide and anti-chafing composition comprising the step of providing a chelated silver oxide complex with a concentration of at least 100 parts per million of said silver oxide together with an anti-chafing balm consisting essentially of: aloe barbadensis leaf juice, C18-C36 acid triglycerides, capric/caprylic triglycerides, tocopheryl acetate, tribehinin, allantoin, and said chelated silver oxide in an amount of between 2 and 5 wt. % by mixing said chelated silver oxide complex with said anti-chafing balm after said anti-chafing balm has been heated and stirred together with said chelated silver oxide complex at a temperature of at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit and wherein said silver oxide complex comprises a mixture of a chitosan solution and an silver solution, wherein said chitosan solution is formed by first providing chitin, a homopolymer of beta (1-4)-linked N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, and wherein said chitosan is rinsed, dried and ground and undergoes a process of deacetylation to convert some N-acetyl glucosamine to glucosamine and wherein said chitosan solution is further prepared by mixing chitosan with an alpha-hydroxy acid, including glycolic acid to allow thickening and wherein said aqueous silver solution is prepared by mixing silver oxide with a carboxylic acid and said chitosan for forming silver oxide chelate and wherein said resulting silver oxide solution is generally electrostatically neutral resulting in a silver oxide chitosan complex that is a cationic solution.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein said chelated silver oxide complex is mixed together with said anti-chafing balm and heated and stirred together at a temperature of at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit resulting in said an antibacterial silver oxide and anti-chafing composition
16 . The method of claim 14 wherein said chelated silver oxide complex within said anti-chafing balm bonds with negatively charged human skin.
17 . The method of claim 14 wherein said complex is provided as an antimicrobial solution that readily bonds to a user's skin such that it remains on said skin in that said silver oxide is bonded to said chitosan complex and thus forms a molecule that is cationically charged and is attracted to anionically charged human skin.
