Abstract

A graphical user interface (GUI) with dynamically changing user-selectable graphical tiles that automatically reorder in closest-to-farthest order based on a real-time location of an electronic computing device having a location tracking device. Physical entities near the device are displayed on the GUI. As the current location of the device changes, the list is dynamically changed in real time by reordering display of the user-selectable graphical tiles displayed on the graphical user interface so that a closest one of the physical entities is displayed topmost in the top-to-bottom order. A points balance associated with a user of the electronic computing device is displayed. A window is displayed in response to triggering events. The user can select one of the tiles, or the device can come within a minimum threshold distance. In response to a selection or user input, an exchange value is received from an external computer server corresponding to a number of points. An electronic transaction is facilitated using the exchanged points.

What is claimed is:

1 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium encoded with a set of instructions that, when executed, causes one or more processors in an electronic computing device to execute a computer-implemented method comprising the steps of:
receiving, from a location tracking device of the electronic computing device, location data indicative of a location of the electronic computing device; displaying, on an electronic display device of the electronic computing device, a graphical user interface (GUI) featuring a plurality of locations of physical entities within a proximity of a current location of the electronic computing device; displaying, on the electronic display device, a list of user-selectable graphical tiles ordered in a top-to-bottom order on the GUI from closest-to-furthest from the current location of the electronic computing device; as the current location of the electronic computing device changes, dynamically changing the list in real time by reordering display of the user-selectable graphical tiles displayed on the electronic display device so that a closest one of the physical entities is displayed topmost in the top-to-bottom order, where each of the graphical tiles includes a name of the corresponding physical entity, a logo identifying the corresponding physical entity, and a distance of the corresponding physical entity from the electronic computing device; receiving, over a wireless communications network, a points balance associated with a user of the electronic computing device and displaying the points balance on the graphical user interface; configuring the electronic computing device to cause a window to be displayed on the electronic display device in response to one of at least two triggering events, a first of the triggering events including receiving, from an electronic input device of the electronic computing device, a selection of one of the user-selectable graphical tiles, and a second of the triggering events including a proximity trigger in response to determining that the electronic computing device is within a minimum threshold distance from one of the physical entities associated with the graphical tiles and automatically initiating display of the window, the window including predefined user-selectable values or an input field to receive a user-defined value in connection with an electronic transaction to be conducted at the selected physical entity corresponding to the physical entity associated with the selected user-selectable graphical tile or to the physical entity that triggered the proximity trigger; in response to receiving a selection of one of the predefined user-selectable values or an input of the user-defined value, receiving from an external computer server an exchange value corresponding to a number of points from the points balance equal to the selected one of the predefined user-selectable values or the user-defined value; submitting an authorization request to the external computer server to deduct the number of points corresponding to the exchange value from the points balance to produce an updated points balance; responsive to receiving a confirmation of the authorization request from the external computer server, requesting an addition of the user-selected or user-defined value to a new or existing user account and displaying the updated points balance on the electronic display device; and facilitating, in association with the electronic computing device, an electronic transaction with a computer terminal associated with the physical entity corresponding to the selected physical entity using at least some of the user-selected or user-defined value exchanged from the points balance.
