Abstract
A system and device for collecting and delivering smoker statistics to an external storage device that accurately describe a smoker's smoking habits.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
1 . A data logging device for collecting and transmitting smoker data, the data logging device comprising
a processor configured to collect the smoker data; a memory, communicatively linked to the central processing unit, the memory configured to store the smoker data; and a data interface, communicatively linked to the central processing unit and to the memory, the data interface configured to transmit the smoker data to a user interface.
2 . The data logging device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to
associate a smoker identification with the smoker data collected during use of one or more one electronic cigarettes; transmit the smoker data to an external storage device; and display the smoker data to a user, the smoker data being associated with the smoker identification.
3 . The data logging device of claim 2 , wherein the user comprises at least one of a physician, a clinician, an insurance company, an insurance company agent, a friend, a family member, or any person.
4 . The data logging device of claim 2 , wherein the smoker identification comprises at least one of a serial number, a bar code, a data string, a name, social security number, or information from the electronic cigarette.
5 . The data logging device of claim 2 , wherein the external storage device comprises a cloud storage device.
6 . The data logging device of claim 2 , wherein transmitting the smoker data to an external storage device comprises using a wireless interface.
7 . The data logging device of claim 2 , wherein transmitting the smoker data to an external storage device comprises using a docking station.
8 . The data logging device of claim 1 further comprising at least one sensor communicatively linked to the processor, the sensor configured to detect the smoker data and provide the smoker data to the processor.
9 . The data logging device of claim 8 , wherein the sensor comprises at least one of a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, a voltage sensor, a capacitive sensor, or an air flow sensor.
10 . The data logging device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to process the smoker data to identify trends or characteristics for one or more smokers.
11 . The data logging device of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to notify the one or more smokers of the trends or characteristics.
12 . The data logging device of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to send marketing notifications to the one or more smokers based on the trends or characteristics.
13 . The data logging device of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to control a use threshold of the electronic cigarette based on the trends or characteristics.
14 . The data logging device of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to send prescription information to a user interface based on the trends or characteristics.
15 . The data logging device of claim 1 , wherein the smoker data comprises at least one of a puff time, a puff date, a puff duration, a puff location, a puff volume, a puff flow rate, a puff draw strength or pressure, a nicotine payload, an aerosol ingredient identification, an aerosol ingredient amount, a user identification, a user age, a number of year the user has been smoking, or an average number of cigarettes smoked per day.
16 . A power supply for an electronic smoking device, the power supply comprising the following:
a tubular housing; a battery mounted with the tubular housing; and a data logging device irremovably coupled to the housing, wherein the data logging device is configured to collect and transmit smoker data collected during use of the electronic smoking device.
17 . A power supply for an electronic smoking device, the power supply comprising the following:
a tubular housing; a battery mounted with the tubular housing; and a data logging device irremovably coupled to the housing, wherein the data logging device comprises a mounting mechanism configured to suspend the data logging device in the housing, and further wherein the data logging device is configured to collect and transmit smoker data collected during use of the electronic smoking device.
18 . The power supply of claim 17 , wherein the mounting mechanism is selected from the group consisting of spring-loaded, pressing arms; a friction-fit suspension plate; a ribbon cable; a wire cluster/set; a wiring harness; and a socket.
19 . The power supply of claim 17 , wherein the data logging device further comprises an edge connector.
20 . The power supply of claim 19 , further comprising a ribbon cable electrically connecting the battery to the edge connector.
21 . The power supply of claim 19 , further comprising at least one electrical wire connecting the battery to the edge connector, whereby the data logging device is separable from the electrical wire by severing the edge connector inboard from a location where the electrical wire is connected to the edge connector.
22 . The power supply of claim 21 , wherein the electrical wire is directly soldered to an outer edge of the edge connector.
23 . A cartomizer for an electronic smoking device, the cartomizer comprising the following:
a tubular housing; a heater mounted with the tubular housing; and a data logging device irremovably coupled to the housing, wherein the data logging device is configured to collect and transmit smoker data collected during use of the electronic smoking device.
24 . A cartomizer for an electronic smoking device, the cartomizer comprising the following:
a tubular housing; a heater mounted with the tubular housing; and a data logging device irremovably coupled to the housing, wherein the data logging device comprises a mounting mechanism configured to suspend the data logging device in the housing, and further wherein the data logging device is configured to collect and transmit smoker data collected during use of the electronic smoking device.
25 . The cartomizer of claim 24 , wherein the mounting mechanism is selected from the group consisting of spring-loaded, pressing arms; a friction-fit suspension plate; a ribbon cable; a wire cluster/set; a wiring harness; and a socket.
26 . The cartomizer of claim 24 , wherein the data logging device further comprises an edge connector.
27 . The cartomizer of claim 24 , further comprising a ribbon cable electrically connecting the heater to the edge connector.
28 . The cartomizer of claim 24 , further comprising at least one electrical wire connecting the heater to the edge connector, whereby the data logging device is separable from the electrical wire by severing the edge connector inboard from a location where the electrical wire is connected to the edge connector.
