Disposable absorbent article designed to facilitate an easy change

Abstract

A disposable absorbent article to be worn about the lower torso of a wearer that facilitates an easy, intuitive change is provided. The disposable absorbent article includes at least one serviceable indicium that facilitates an easy change by providing alignment of the article relative to an anatomical feature of the wearer or by externally highlighting one or more components of the article thereby indicating alignment and fit about the wearer's lower torso.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A disposable absorbent article having a body-facing surface and a garment facing surface; the disposable absorbent article further comprising:
 a. a first waist region having a first end edge, a second waist region having a second end edge, and a crotch region between the first and second waist regions;   b. a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis that intersect in said crotch region of the absorbent article   c. a pair of opposing longitudinal side edges joining the first end edge and the second end edge;   d. a liquid pervious topsheet; a liquid impervious backsheet; and an absorbent core disposed between said liquid pervious topsheet and said liquid impervious backsheet;   e. a pair of cuffs, each of which comprising one or more elastic strands; and   f. at least two different internally visible serviceable indicia;   g. wherein the at least two different internally visible serviceable indicia comprises a pattern and/or texture to distinguish one region of the body facing surface from another region of the body facing surface.   
     
     
         2 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 1 , wherein the at least two internally visible serviceable indicia are disposed beneath the topsheet. 
     
     
         3 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 2 , wherein at least one of the at least two internally visible serviceable indicia comprises a colored region. 
     
     
         4 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 1  further comprising externally visible serviceable indicia disposed on portions of the backsheet proximate to longitudinal side edges, wherein the externally visible serviceable indicia distinguish the portions of the garment-facing surface proximate the longitudinal side edges from a portion of the garment-facing surface proximate an intersection of the longitudinal and transverse axes. 
     
     
         5 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 5  wherein the externally visible serviceable indicia comprises a curvilinear portion. 
     
     
         6 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 5  wherein the garment-facing side comprises instructional serviceable indicia. 
     
     
         7 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 1  wherein the pair of cuffs comprises a color. 
     
     
         8 . A disposable absorbent article having a body-facing surface and a garment facing surface; the disposable absorbent article further comprising:
 a. a first waist region having a first end edge, a second waist region having a second end edge, and a crotch region between the first and second waist regions;   b. a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis that intersect in said crotch region of the absorbent article   c. a pair of opposing longitudinal side edges joining the first end edge and the second end edge;   d. a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet;   e. wherein:
 i. the backsheet comprises externally visible serviceable indicia comprising at least one externally visible serviceable indicium disposed on portions of the backsheet proximate the longitudinal side edges in at least the crotch region and at least one externally visible serviceable indicium disposed on portions of said backsheet proximate the first and second end edges, 
 ii. the externally visible serviceable indicia distinguish the portions of the garment-facing surface proximate the longitudinal side edges and portions of the garment-facing surface proximate the first and second end edges from a portion of the garment-facing surface proximate an intersection of the longitudinal and transverse axes; and 
 iii. the externally visible serviceable indicia form a pattern that distinguishes the first waist region from the second waist region. 
   
     
     
         9 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 8  wherein the externally visible serviceable indicia comprise one or more colors. 
     
     
         10 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 8  wherein the at least one externally visible serviceable indicia disposed proximate the longitudinal side edges is convex relative to the longitudinal axis. 
     
     
         11 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 8  further comprising instructional serviceable indicia disposed on the backsheet. 
     
     
         12 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 8  further comprising an internally visible serviceable indicium. 
     
     
         13 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 12  wherein the internally visible serviceable indicium is disposed in the absorbent core. 
     
     
         14 . A disposable absorbent article having a first waist region, a second waist region and a crotch region between the first and second waist regions, a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis that intersect in said crotch region of the absorbent article, said disposable absorbent article comprising:
 a. a body-facing surface and a garment facing surface;   b. a liquid pervious topsheet; a liquid impervious backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between said topsheet and said backsheet;   c. a first internally visible serviceable indicium, said first internally visible serviceable indicium being at least partially located at the intersection of the longitudinal axis and the transverse axis, wherein said first internally visible serviceable indicium comprises first and second portions that are each convex relative to said longitudinal axis and third and fourth portions that are each concave relative to said transverse axis, and   d. a second internally visible serviceable indicium comprising a color.   
     
     
         15 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 14  wherein the first internally visible serviceable indicium comprises a texture. 
     
     
         16 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 14  wherein the first internally visible serviceable indicium is disposed on the topsheet. 
     
     
         17 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 14  wherein the second internally visible serviceable indicium is disposed on a surface beneath the topsheet. 
     
     
         18 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 14  further comprising an externally visible serviceable indicium, wherein the externally visible serviceable indicium distinguishes a portion of the garment-facing surface located at the intersection of the longitudinal and transverse axes from another portion of the garment-facing surface. 
     
     
         19 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 18  wherein the externally visible serviceable indicium comprises a pattern formed from one or more lines. 
     
     
         20 . The disposable absorbent article of  claim 14  further comprising a third internally visible serviceable indicium disposed in the absorbent core.
