Abstract

Computer-implemented systems and methods are disclosed that query collections of documents. Disclosed embodiments may include receiving, via a user interface, a first search query comprising a text string. Disclosed embodiments may include, responsive to receiving the first search query, initializing a first query object based on the text string. Further, disclosed embodiments may include translating the first query object to match the formatting of a search engine, the translated first query object capable of searching a plurality of collections of documents. Disclosed embodiments may also include receiving aggregated query results from a search engine based on the translated first query object. Some disclosed embodiments may include reformatting the aggregated query results based on respective configuration files of the collections. Additionally, disclosed embodiments may include rendering a graphical user interface that facilitates user interaction with the reformatted aggregate query results.

reformat the aggregated query results based on respective configuration files of the collections.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the set of instructions to:
render a graphical user interface that facilitates user interaction with the reformatted aggregate query results; wherein the rendered graphical user interface comprises a graph of query results based on a first user selection field.

3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the set of instructions to:
receive a second user selection corresponding to a region of the graph corresponding to a particular entry of the first user selection field; and generate a second query object based on the second user selection to perform an additional search.

4 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein, responsive to a first user selection of a field, the rendered graphical user interface comprises a document display region that displays a document containing the field and highlighting the field.

5 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the at least one processor is further capable of executing the set of instructions to: archive the rendered graphical user interface; and
electronically distribute instructions to recreate the archived rendered graphical user interface based on security permissions.

6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further capable of executing the set of instructions to:
automatically export a report summarizing the reformatted aggregate query results based on a predefined configuration file.

7 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the at least one processor is further capable of executing the set of instructions to:
receive, via the user interface, document flagging criteria; initialize a second query object based on the document flag criteria and the first query object; perform a second search with the second query object; and update the rendered graphical user interface to display flag icons adjacent to each the reformatted aggregate query results that are present in results from the second search.

8 . A non-transitory computer readable medium that stores a set of instructions that, when executed by an electronic device, cause the electronic device to perform a method of interfacing with a search engine storing a plurality of documents, wherein each of the plurality of documents is associated with one collection of documents based on a common document format, the method comprising:
receiving, via a user interface, a first search query comprising a text string; responsive to receiving the first search query, initializing a first query object based on the text string; translating the first query object to match the formatting of a search engine, the translated first query object capable of searching a plurality of collections of documents; receiving aggregated query results from a search engine based on the translated first query object; and reformatting the aggregated query results based on respective configuration files of the collections.

9 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the method further comprises:
rendering a graphical user interface that facilitates user interaction with the reformatted aggregate query results; wherein the rendered graphical user interface comprises a graph of query results based on a first user selection field.

10 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the method further comprises:
receiving a second user selection corresponding to a region of the graph corresponding to a particular entry of the first user selection field; and generating a second query object based on the second user selection to perform an additional search.

11 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9 , wherein, responsive to a first user selection of a field, the rendered graphical user interface comprises a document display region that displays a document containing the field and highlighting the field.

12 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the method further comprises:
archiving the rendered graphical user interface; and electronically distributing instructions to recreate the archived rendered graphical user interface based on security permissions.

13 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the method further comprises:
automatically export a report summarizing the reformatted aggregate query results based on a predefined configuration file.

14 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the method further comprises:
receiving, via the rendered user interface, document flagging criteria; initializing a second query object based on the document flag criteria and the first query object; performing a second search with the second query object; and updating the rendered graphical user interface to display flag icons adjacent to each the reformatted aggregate query results that are present in results from the second search.
