Abstract
The invention describes compositions that include rebaudioside D, processes to produce rebaudioside D and formulations that provide ratios of rebaudioside A to rebaudioside D to decrease the aftertaste of rebaudioside A.

11 . A method to decrease bitterness of purified rebaudioside A in a sweetener composition comprising purified rebaudioside A, comprising:
adding to the sweetener composition purified rebaudioside D in an amount that is 1% or greater by weight of the final composition.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein purified rebaudioside D is added in an amount that is 5% or greater by weight of the final composition.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the combined percentage of rebaudioside A and rebaudioside D in the sweetener composition equals 100% of total steviol glycosides in the sweetener composition.
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the sweetener composition consists of rebaudioside A and rebaudioside D.
15 . A method to decrease aftertaste of rebaudioside A in a sweetener composition comprising purified rebaudioside A, comprising:
adding to the sweetener composition purified rebaudioside D in an amount that is 0.5% or greater by weight of the final composition.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein purified rebaudioside D is added in an amount that is 1% or greater by weight of the final composition.
17 . The method of claim 15 , wherein purified rebaudioside D is added in an amount that is 5% or greater by weight of the final composition.
18 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the sweetener composition consists of rebaudioside A and rebaudioside D.
19 . A method to decrease bitterness of rebaudioside A in a sweetener composition, comprising:
adding to the sweetener composition purified rebaudioside D in an amount that is 5% or greater by weight of the final composition, wherein the sweetener composition consists of purified rebaudioside A and purified rebaudioside D.
20 . A method to decrease an aftertaste of a sweetener composition comprising rebaudioside A, comprising the steps of:
preparing a purified preparation of rebaudioside A; preparing a purified preparation of rebaudioside D; and, adding the purified preparation of rebaudioside D to the purified preparation of rebaudioside A in an amount sufficient to decrease an aftertaste of the rebaudioside A preparation, wherein the amount of purified rebaudioside D is greater than 1% by weight of the final sweetener composition.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
