Abstract

Systems and methods provide feedback to at least one participant in a field of play. A performance analysis device determines performance information of each participant in the field of play, where the performance information is based upon at least one of determined location, speed, path, acceleration and biometrics of said each participant. At least one output device provides real-time feedback to the at least one participant based upon the performance information. The real-time feedback comprises performance information of the at least one participant and/or performance information of one or more other participants in the field of play.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A system for providing feedback about a plurality of participants in a real field of play, comprising:
a single performance analysis device having a processor capable of:
continuously determining, within the single performance analysis device, location information of each of the plurality of participants concurrently within the real field of play, and
 determining performance information of each of the plurality of participants within the real field of play based upon the continuously determined location information, the performance information including change of direction agility;
an output device for providing real-time feedback based upon the performance information.

2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a recording device for storing profile data for each of the participants; and a performance monitor for evaluating the performance information and the profile data to predict at least one of performance and fatigue of the participants, the performance and fatigue being included within the real-time feedback.

3 . The system of claim 2 , the performance information comprising time on the real field of play by the given participant and distance travelled on the real field of play by the given participant , the performance monitor predicting the fatigue of each participant based upon both time on the real field of play and distance traveled on the real field of play.

4 . The system of claim 3 , the single performance analysis device determining the time on the real field of play and distance travelled on the real field of play for each participant based upon the location information.

5 . The system of claim 2 , the recording device further storing a predefined path, wherein the real-time feedback comprises agility of at least one of the participants following the predefined path.

6 . The system of claim 1 , the output device comprising a display in wireless communication with the performance analysis device for receiving the real-time feedback.

7 . The system of claim 1 , the performance information further comprising speed and acceleration determined from the location information for each of the plurality of participants.

8 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a strategy manager that stores a predefined path and speed for one or more of the plurality of participants, the single performance analysis device determining the performance information based upon conformance of the one or more participants to the path and speed.

9 . The system of claim 8 , the predefined path and speed representing an American football play to be performed by the one or more of the plurality of participants.

10 . The system of claim 8 , the predefined path and speed representing a drill to be performed by the one or more of the plurality of participants, the real-time feedback comprising an assessment of skill of the one or more of the plurality of participants.

11 . A method for providing feedback about a plurality of participants in a real field of play, comprising:
continuously determining location information of each of the plurality of participants concurrently within the real field of play; determining performance information of each of the plurality of participants within the real field of play based upon the continuously determined location information, the performance information including change of direction agility; generating real-time feedback based upon the performance information for each of the plurality of participants; and outputting the real-time feedback to a display device.

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising predicting one or both of future performance and fatigue of each of the plurality of participants based upon the performance information and profile data defining ability of each of the plurality of participants.

13 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
determining, based upon the location information, time on the real field of play by each of the plurality of participants; determining, based upon the location information, distance travelled on the real field of play by each of the plurality of participants; and predicting fatigue of each of the plurality of participants based upon both time on the real field of play and distance traveled on the real field of play.

14 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising determining, based upon the location information, conformance of at least one of the plurality of participants to a predefined path and speed for the at least one of the plurality of participants.

15 . The method of claim 14 , the predefined path and speed representing an American football play to be performed by the at least one of the plurality of participants.

16 . The method of claim 14 , the predefined path and speed representing a drill to be performed by the at least one of the plurality of participants, the real-time feedback comprising an assessment of skill of the at least one of the plurality of participants.

17 . The method of claim 11 , the step of outputting including sending the real-time feedback to at least one of the plurality of participants.
