Pesticidal compositions and methods for using same

Abstract

Pesticide compositions containing one or more plant essential oils and methods for using same are disclosed.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A pesticide consisting essentially of:
 a) thyme oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight;   b) rosemary oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight;   c) cinnamon oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight;   d) wintergreen oil in an amount of from 0.0001 to 20% by weight; and   e) at least one member present in an amount of from 5 to 99.9% by weight, said member selected from the group consisting of: bentonite, calcium carbonate, cellulose, clove, dolomite, kaolin, lecithin, mustard, diatomaceous earth, clay, gel, mineral oil; white mineral oil, sodium lauryl sulfate, lecithin, corn oil and water.   
     
     
         2 . The pesticide of  claim 1  wherein
 a) the thyme oil is present in an amount of from 0.5 to 20% by weight; 
 b) the rosemary oil is present in an amount of from 0.5 to 20% by weight; and 
 c) the cinnamon oil is present in an amount of from 0.1 to 20% by weight. 
 
     
     
         3 . A pesticide consisting essentially of:
 a) cottonseed oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight;   b) peppermint oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight;   c) thyme oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight;   d) lemongrass oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight;   e) wintergreen oil in an amount of from 0.0001 to 20% by weight; and   f) at least one member present in an amount of from 5 to 99.9% by weight, said member selected from the group consisting of: bentonite, calcium carbonate, cellulose, clove, dolomite, kaolin, lecithin, mustard, diatomaceous earth, clay, gel, mineral oil; white mineral oil, sodium lauryl sulfate, lecithin, corn oil and water.   
     
     
         4 . The pesticide of  claim 4  wherein
 a) the cottonseed oil is present in an amount of from 0.1 to 20% by weight; 
 b) the peppermint oil is present in an amount of from 0.1 to 20% by weight; 
 c) the thyme oil is present in an amount of from 0.1 to 20% by weight; and 
 d) the lemongrass oil is present in an amount of from 0.1 to 20% by weight. 
 
     
     
         5 . A pesticide consisting essentially of:
 a) lemongrass oil in an amount of from 0.01 to 20% by weight;   b) wintergreen oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight; and   c) at least one member present in an amount of from 5 to 99.9% by weight, said member selected from the group consisting of: bentonite, calcium carbonate, cellulose, clove, dolomite, kaolin, lecithin, mustard, diatomaceous earth, clay, gel, mineral oil; white mineral oil, sodium lauryl sulfate, lecithin, corn oil and water.   
     
     
         6 . The pesticide of  claim 5  wherein
 a) the lemongrass oil is present in an amount of from 0.1 to 20% by weight; 
 
     
     
         7 . A pesticide consisting essentially of:
 a) rosemary oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight;   b) soybean oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight; and   c) at least one member present in an amount of from 5 to 99.9% by weight, said member selected from the group consisting of: bentonite, calcium carbonate, cellulose, clove, dolomite, kaolin, lecithin, mustard, diatomaceous earth, clay, gel, mineral oil; white mineral oil, sodium lauryl sulfate, lecithin, corn oil and water.   
     
     
         8 . The pesticide of  claim 7  wherein
 a) the rosemary oil is present in an amount of from 0.01 to 20% by weight; and 
 b) the soybean oil is present in an amount of from 0.01 to 20% by weight. 
 
     
     
         9 . A pesticide consisting essentially of:
 a) peppermint oil in an amount of from 0.01 to 20% by weight;   b) geraniol in an amount of from 0.01 to 20% by weight;   c) wintergreen oil in an amount of from 0.001 to 20% by weight; and   d) at least one member present in an amount of from 5 to 99.9% by weight, said member selected from the group consisting of: bentonite, calcium carbonate, cellulose, clove, dolomite, kaolin, lecithin, mustard, diatomaceous earth, clay, gel, mineral oil; white mineral oil, sodium lauryl sulfate, lecithin, corn oil and water.   
     
     
         10 . The pesticide of  claim 9  wherein
 a) the peppermint oil is present in an amount of from 0.1 to 20% by weight; and 
 b) the geraniol is present in an amount of from 0.1 to 20% by weight.
