Abstract
A multi-tenant, RFID system that may be Cloud based or run on a local area network (LAN) for distributed RFID devices and RFID applications. The RFID system a central abstraction and translation layer between RFID devices installed in geographically diverse locations and applications. RFID devices initiate communication to a Cloud or LAN network over to send events and receive commands. RFID applications can receive RFID tag data, device health, and requested and derived events from the RFID system to automatically run processes based on the provided data. Applications manage RFID devices and settings in the RFID system using command and configuration interfaces.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 22 . (canceled)
23 . A radio frequency identification (RFID) system, comprising:
an RFID tag configured to store first data; an RFID device configured to read the RFID tag; and an RFID database operatively coupled to the RFID device via a cloud network, wherein the RFID database is configured to store an association between a first data of the RFID tag and a second data of an item, and wherein RFID tag is authenticated by comparing the first data stored on the RFID tag with the first data of the RFID tag stored on the RFID database.
24 . The RFID system according to claim 23 , wherein the first data stored on the RFID tag includes a tag identifier (TID).
25 . The RFID system according to claim 24 , wherein the first data stored on the RFID tag or the RFID database includes one or more of the following: a digital signature, an expiration date, a lot number, and a batch number.
26 . The RFID system according to claim 23 , wherein the first data stored on the RFID tag includes an electronic product code (EPC).
27 . The RFID system according to claim 23 , wherein the cloud network includes a server on which runs a device application program interface (API), and wherein the device API is configured to receive the first data from the RFID tag and to manage the RFID database.
28 . The RFID system according to claim 27 , wherein the device API is configured to store the first data and the second data in the RFID database.
29 . The RFID system according to claim 27 , wherein the RFID system is run on a local access network (LAN) such that communications during an operation of the RFID system are prevented from passing outside an organization of an end user.
30 . The RFID system according to claim 29 , wherein the cloud server and a runtime system are operated on a premise of the organization of the end user.
31 . The RFID system according to claim 29 , wherein the RFID system is not run across the Internet.
32 . The RFID system according to claim 27 , wherein the server is configured to provide a cloud application API for use with an endpoint application.
33 . The RFID system according to claim 23 , wherein the RFID database is configured to uses the first data and the second data as indexes with a reference to a manufacturer of the item associated with the RFID tag.
34 . The RFID system according to claim 23 , wherein the cloud network is configured to provide information based on a request from an endpoint application that includes the first data or the second data.
35 . The RFID system according to claim 34 , wherein the provided information corresponding to the first data or the second data is provided by a runtime system of the cloud network.
36 . The RFID system according to claim 34 , wherein the provided information corresponding to the first data or the second data that is stored in the RFID database.
37 . The RFID system according to claim 23 , wherein cloud network is configured to receive a request to generate a new identifier for the RFID tag.
38 . The RFID system according to claim 37 , wherein the EPC is inaccurate or not unique, and wherein the new identifier is unique across multiple cloud applications.
39 . The RFID system according to claim 37 , wherein the new identifier for the RFID tag is updated with respect to the first data or the second data.Cited by (0)
