Abstract

Tokenizing a wrapper in a secure personalized transaction conducted within a multi-domain ecosystem involves mapping a portion of a plurality of information fields of an electronic transaction message received by a networked device of the multi-domain ecosystem to common format message fields that are then configured into a common format message. The configured common format message is wrapped in a protocol abstraction content wrapper, which is tokenized. The token and/or the wrapper is transmitted to a second networked device in the ecosystem for authentication of a transaction identifiable in the electronic transaction message.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A system comprising:
 a plurality of point of transaction devices, each configured to conduct electronic transactions with a distinct transaction protocol type;   a transaction protocol abstraction facility configured to abstract any of the distinct transaction protocol types by:   determining at least one of a protocol type and a content of a plurality of information fields in a transaction message received from any of the point of transaction devices;   mapping at least a portion of the plurality of information fields to transaction protocol abstraction format message fields;   configuring a transaction protocol abstraction format transaction message based on the mapping; and   wrapping the configured transaction message in a protocol abstraction content wrapper;   a mobile transaction platform server that interfaces through an enterprise service bus with a plurality of service providers, a plurality of transaction acquirers, and a plurality of transaction instrument issuers;   a mobile device-deployed electronic transaction facility that is configured to conduct transactions via the mobile transaction platform server by communicating to at least one of the point of transaction devices via a first protocol type and by communicating to at least one of the service providers, the transaction acquirers, and the instrument issuers via the protocol abstraction format.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a point of sale transaction switch for facilitating selecting among a plurality of transaction acquirers for conducting a transaction associated with the transaction message received by the transaction protocol abstraction facility. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the protocol abstraction transaction wrapper is compatible with a transaction communication protocol that is independent of a portion of the distinct transaction protocol types. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the protocol abstraction facility further produces a token for a transaction associated with the transaction message. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 4 , further comprising transmitting authentication of the token, along with token identification information from the source of the wrapper for an electronic transaction message to the service provider server thereby authenticating the transaction identified by the token. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 5 , wherein transmitting authentication of the token is facilitated by provider-specific software executing on a device from which the wrapper for an electronic transaction message is sourced. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 4 , wherein the wrapper is received over a first communication link and the token is electronically transmitted over a second communication link. 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the second communication link is an internet-protocol based link. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 7 , wherein the service provider accesses confidential information that is not accessible to the networked device to facilitate authenticating the transaction identified by the token. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the confidential information is associated with a digital wallet disposed on a device from which the authentication of the token is transmitted. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one of the service providers is an instrument issuer.
