Augmented Aggregation of Emailed Product Order and Shipping Information
Abstract
Product order and shipping information received via email messages is automatically aggregated for ready user review. Once the user is authenticated, authorization to access their email mailbox is obtained and the email message headers of their entails are analyzed to identify those messages of interest. The bodies of the email messages of interest are parsed to extract the product order and shipping information which is stored and presented for display to the user typically grouped by individual product thus greatly simplifying user review of orders. The aggregated product order and shipping information can be augmented with additional information such as shipping status, delivery status, a product image, and/or a last date that the product can be returned.

A method implemented by a computer system for processing electronic messages concerning respective product orders in respective collections of electronic messages transmitted between network nodes and stored in one or more non-transitory networked electronic message storage systems, comprising:
from respective ones of the electronic messages extracting, by the computer system, data items relating to a purchased product and corresponding to purchase related data fields in a predefined set of data fields; storing, by the computer system, the extracted data items as aggregated data in a non-transitory networked data storage system; based on one or more of the extracted data items determining, by the computer system, one or more strings mappable to one or more online resources; from the one or more strings deriving, by the computer system, one or more hyperlinks to one or more respective online resources relating to the purchased product; based on one or more of the hyperlinks retrieving, by the computer system, the one or more online resources and parsing the one or more retrieved online resources to obtain additional information relating to the purchased product corresponding to one or more of the data fields in the predefined set of data fields and missing from the extracted data; augmenting, by the computer system, the aggregated data with the obtained additional information; and based on a request from a client network node associated with a user, transmitting data for displaying a view based on the augmented data on the client network node.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein:
the determining comprises, by the computer system, obtaining information from one or more of the extracted data items; and the deriving comprises, by the computer system, identifying a vendor of the purchased product, selecting a predefined hyperlink structure associated with the identified vendor, and constructing the one or more hyperlinks from the ascertained hyperlink structure and the information obtained from one or more of the extracted data items.
24 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the constructing comprises, by the computer system, combining the ascertained hyperlink structure with the information obtained from one or more of the extracted data items.
25 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the deriving comprises, by the computer system, constructing at least one of the one or more hyperlinks from the one or more strings.
26 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the determining comprises, by the computer system, ascertaining the one or more strings based on one or more of the extracted data items relating to the purchased product.
27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein at least one of the one or more ascertained strings corresponds to a code associated with the purchased product.
28 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the determining comprises, by the computer system, ascertaining the one or more strings from multiple of the extracted data items.
29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the determining comprises, by the computer system, constructing a query from the one or more strings.
30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the deriving comprises mapping the query to the one or more hyperlinks.
31 . The method of claim 22 , wherein one or more event-dependent data fields in the predefined set of data fields are associated with one or more respective events, and the augmenting comprises, by the computer system, automatically updating the one or more event-dependent data fields based on occurrence of the one or more respective events.
32 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising, by the computer system, obtaining status information relating to the one or more events, and the augmenting comprises updating at least one existing value in one or more of the event-dependent data fields based on occurrence of one or more of the respective events.
33 . The method of claim 32 , wherein the obtaining comprises, by the computer system, periodically repeating the retrieving to obtain a current value of a data item in a particular one of the event-dependent data fields.
34 . The method of claim 33 , wherein the updating comprises, by the computer system, updating the particular event-dependent data field based on a determination that retrieved current value differs from the existing value.
35 . The method of claim 31 , wherein at least one of the event-dependent data fields is associated with a respective calculation, and the updating comprises performing the respective calculation based on the obtained additional information to obtain an updated result and updating the at least one event-dependent data field with the updated result.
36 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the at least one event-dependent data field relates to remuneration for the purchased product.
37 . The method of claim 22 , wherein:
the parsing comprises parsing the one or more retrieved online resources to obtain a respective image of the purchased product from a remote server; and the augmenting comprises augmenting the aggregated data with the retrieved image.
38 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising grouping ones of the electronic messages into respective groups by purchase transaction; deduplicating data items extracted from the electronic messages in each group of electronic messages; and storing the deduplicated data items for each group in respective purchase transaction based data records in the non-transitory networked data storage system.

A system or processing electronic messages concerning respective product orders in respective collections of electronic messages transmitted between network nodes and stored in one or more non-transitory networked electronic message storage systems, the system comprising a non-transitory memory storing processor-readable instructions, and a processor coupled to the memory, operable to execute the instructions, and based at least in part on the execution of the instructions operable to perform operations comprising:
from respective ones of the electronic messages extracting, by the computer system, data items relating to a purchased product and corresponding to purchase related data fields in a predefined set of data fields; storing, by the computer system, the extracted data items as aggregated data in a non-transitory networked data storage system; based on one or more of the extracted data items determining, by the computer system, one or more strings mappable to one or more online resources; from the one or more strings deriving, by the computer system, one or more hyperlinks to one or more respective online resources relating to the purchased product; based on one or more of the hyperlinks retrieving, by the computer system, the one or more online resources and parsing the one or more retrieved online resources to obtain additional information relating to the purchased product corresponding to one or more of the data fields in the predefined set of data fields and missing from the extracted data; augmenting, by the computer system, the aggregated data with the obtained additional information; and based on a request from a client network node associated with a user, transmitting data for displaying a view based on the augmented data on the client network node.

The system of claim 38 , wherein the determining comprises, by the computer system, ascertaining the one or more strings from multiple of the extracted data items, the determining comprises, by the computer system, constructing a query from the one or more strings, and the deriving comprises mapping the query to the one or more hyperlinks.
41 . At least one non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions, which when executed by computer apparatus, cause the computer apparatus to perform operations comprising:
from respective ones of electronic messages concerning respective product orders extracting, by the computer system, data items relating to a purchased product and corresponding to purchase related data fields in a predefined set of data fields; storing, by the computer system, the extracted data items as aggregated data in a non-transitory networked data storage system; based on one or more of the extracted data items determining, by the computer system, one or more strings mappable to one or more online resources, wherein the determining comprises, by the computer system, obtaining information from one or more of the extracted data items; from the one or more strings deriving, by the computer system, one or more hyperlinks to one or more respective online resources relating to the purchased product, wherein the deriving comprises identifying a vendor of the purchased product, selecting a predefined hyperlink structure associated with the identified vendor, and constructing the one or more hyperlinks from the ascertained hyperlink structure and the information obtained from one or more of the extracted data items, wherein the constructing comprises, by the computer system, combining the ascertained hyperlink structure with the information obtained from one or more of the extracted data items; based on one or more of the hyperlinks retrieving, by the computer system, the one or more online resources and parsing the one or more retrieved online resources to obtain additional information relating to the purchased product corresponding to one or more of the data fields in the predefined set of data fields and missing from the extracted data; augmenting, by the computer system, the aggregated data with the obtained additional information; and based on a request from a client network node associated with a user, transmitting data for displaying a view based on the augmented data on the client network node.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
