Abstract
An adjustable spinal implant device, comprising: a sliding portion provided with a tongue; and, a non-sliding portion provided with a slot adapted for receipt of the tongue; wherein the tongue is slidably and rotatably positioned within the slot. Methods of use include adjusting a spinal implant to an implant site by at least one of sliding and rotating at least a first portion with respect to a second portion of the implant; and, securing the spinal implant to the implant site.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . An adjustable spinal implant device comprising:
a first portion having a first end, a second end, and a first bracket at the first end; a second portion having a first end, a second end, a second bracket at the first end, and a tightening screw hole proximate the second end; a tightening screw disposed in the tightening screw hole, wherein the second end of the second portion is configured to slidably receive the second end of the first portion to adjust a width of the adjustable spinal implant device when the tightening screw is loosened, and the tightening screw is configured to be tightened to secure the first portion relative to the second portion; a first cam screw comprising a first groove configured to at least partially receive a first retaining pin, the first cam screw configured to be disposed in the first portion proximate the first bracket, the first cam screw configured to be rotated to secure a first spinal rod between the first cam screw and the first bracket, and the first retaining pin and the first groove configured to interact to lock the first cam screw; and a second cam screw comprising a second groove configured to at least partially receive a second retaining pin, the second cam screw configured to be disposed in the second portion proximate the second bracket, the second cam screw configured to be rotated to secure a second spinal rod between the second cam screw and the second bracket, and the second retaining pin and the first groove configured to interact to lock the second cam screw.
3 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 2 , wherein the first portion is rotatable relative to the second portion when the tightening screw is loosened.
4 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 2 , wherein each of the first and second cam screws comprises a tapered and cambered surface.
5 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 4 , wherein the cambered surface of the first cam screw is configured to trap the first spinal rod between the first cam screw and the first bracket and the cambered surface of the second cam screw is configured to trap the second spinal rod between the second cam screw and the second bracket.
6 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 2 , wherein the adjustable spinal implant device is at least partially made of stainless steel.
7 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 2 , wherein the adjustable spinal implant device is at least partially made of titanium.
8 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 2 , wherein the adjustable spinal implant device is at least partially made of polyetheretherketone.
9 . A cross-link system comprising the adjustable spinal implant device of claim 2 and at least one spinal fusion rod.
10 . An adjustable spinal implant device comprising:
a first portion having a first end and a second end; a second portion having a first end, a second end, and a tightening screw hole proximate the second end; at least one bracket at the first end of at least one of the first and second portions; a tightening screw disposed in the tightening screw hole, wherein the second end of the second portion is configured to slidably receive the second end of the first portion to adjust a width of the adjustable spinal implant device when the tightening screw is loosened, and the tightening screw is configured to be tightened to secure the first portion relative to the second portion; and at least one cam screw comprising a groove configured to at least partially receive a retaining pin, the cam screw configured to be disposed proximate the bracket, the cam screw configured to be rotated to secure a spinal rod between the cam screw and the bracket, and the retaining pin and the groove configured to interact to lock the cam screw.
11 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 10 , wherein the first portion is rotatable relative to the second portion when the tightening screw is loosened.
12 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 10 , wherein the at least one cam screw comprises a tapered and cambered surface.
13 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 12 , wherein the cambered surface is configured to trap the spinal rod between the cam screw and the bracket.
14 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 10 , wherein the adjustable spinal implant device is at least partially made of stainless steel.
15 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 10 , wherein the adjustable spinal implant device is at least partially made of titanium.
16 . The adjustable spinal implant device of claim 10 , wherein the adjustable spinal implant device is at least partially made of polyetheretherketone.
17 . A cross-link system comprising the adjustable spinal implant device of claim 10 and at least one spinal fusion rod.Cited by (0)
