Abstract
A hole saw includes a base member configured to secure the hole saw to a drive device; and a set of blade members extending from the base member, each blade member including a sawing portion having cutting teeth, the sawing portion having a medial portion connected to the base member, the sawing portion having oppositely extending, freestanding distal ends.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A hole saw, comprising:
a base member configured to secure the hole saw to a drive device; and a set of blade members extending from the base member, each of the blade members including a sawing portion having cutting teeth, the sawing portion having a medial portion connected to the base member, the sawing portion having oppositely extending, freestanding distal ends, and wherein the blade members are configured to create a linear cut through a structure in response to rotational movement of the hole saw relative to the structure.
2 . The hole saw of claim 1 , wherein the sawing portion is arcuately-shaped.
3 . The hole saw of claim 1 , wherein the cutting teeth located near the medial portion are located a greater distance from the base member than the cutting teeth located near the distal ends.
4 . The hole saw of claim 1 , wherein the blade members are located orthogonal to each other.
5 . The hole saw of claim 1 , wherein the sawing portion extends linearly along a longitudinal direction of the sawing portion.
6 . The hole saw of claim 1 , wherein the sawing portion is connected to the base member via an extender portion, the extender portion having a dimension less than a dimension of the sawing portion measured in a longitudinal direction of the sawing portion.
7 . The hole saw of claim 1 , wherein each of the blade members include:
the sawing portion extending linearly between the distal ends to a first dimension; a stabilizer portion connected to the base member and extending linearly to the first dimension; and an extender portion connecting the sawing portion and the stabilizer portion.
8 . A hole saw, comprising:
a base member supporting a set of blade members, each blade member having cutting teeth, the blade members arranged in a non-circular relationship relative to each other, and wherein a distance between the cutting teeth and the base member varies along a longitudinal direction of the respective blade members, and wherein the blade members are configured to create a linear cut through structure in response to rotational movement of the hole saw relative to the structure.
9 . The hole saw of claim 8 , wherein each blade member includes a sawing portion having the respective cutting teeth, the sawing portion having a medial portion and oppositely disposed, freestanding distal ends.
10 . The hole saw of claim 9 , wherein the distance at the medial portion is greater than the distance at the distal ends.
11 . The hole saw of claim 8 , wherein the blade members are located orthogonal to each other.
12 . The hole saw of claim 8 , wherein each blade member includes an arcuately formed sawing portion having the respective cutting teeth.
13 . The hole saw of claim 8 , wherein each blade member includes:
a sawing portion having the respective cutting teeth; a stabilizer portion connected to the base member; and an extender portion connecting the sawing portion and the stabilizer portion.
14 . The hole saw of claim 13 , wherein the extender portion has a dimension less than a dimension of the sawing portion as measured in a longitudinal direction of the sawing portion.
15 . A hole saw, comprising:
a base member supporting a set of blade members, each blade member having a sawing portion with cutting teeth, the sawing portion having a medial portion and oppositely disposed distal ends, and wherein a distance between the cutting teeth and the base member at the medial portion is greater than at the distal ends, and wherein the distal ends are configured to flex transversely relative to a cutting direction of the respective blade member, and wherein the base member is configured to be coupled to a drive device, and wherein the blade members are configured to create a linear cut through a structure in response to receiving oscillating, rotational movement of the hole saw relative to the structure via the drive device.
16 . The hole saw of claim 15 , wherein the blade members are located orthogonal to each other.
17 . The hole saw of claim 15 , wherein the sawing portion of each blade member is arcuately-shaped.
18 . The hole saw of claim 15 , wherein the sawing portion extends linearly along a longitudinal direction of the sawing portion.
19 . The hole saw of claim 15 , wherein the sawing portion is connected to the base member via an extender portion, the extender portion having a dimension less than a dimension of the sawing portion measured in a longitudinal direction of the sawing portion.
20 . The hole saw of claim 15 , wherein each blade member includes:
the sawing portion; a stabilizer portion connected to the base member; and a necked-down extender portion connecting the sawing portion and the stabilizer portion.Cited by (0)
