Abstract
Custom dental prosthesis or implants each individually designed and manufactured to replace nonfunctional natural teeth positioned in a jawbone of a specific pre-identified patient are provided. An example dental prosthesis/implant includes a dental implant body having a prosthesis interface formed therein to receive an occlusally-facing dental prosthesis component. The prosthesis interface has a custom three-dimensional surface shape positioned and formed to create a form locking fit with respect to the occlusally-facing dental prosthesis component when positioned thereon.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThat claimed is:
. A dental prosthesis to replace a specific natural tooth of a pre-identified patient, the dental prosthesis to be integrated into a receiving jawbone cavity structure of the pre-identified patient corresponding to the specific natural tooth, the dental prosthesis being a finished manufactured product prior to its insertion into the receiving jawbone cavity structure, wherein the dental prosthesis comprises:
a root body, the root body configured to be positioned in and substantially integrated into and adopted by at least one of the following: a jawbone structure of the pre-identified patient and a periodontal ligament structure of the pre-identified patient, defining the receiving jawbone cavity structure, wherein the root body comprises a spatial custom root surface shape dimensionally correlated to a corresponding spatial surface shape of at least one of the following: a root portion of the specific natural tooth of the pre-identified patient and the receiving jawbone cavity structure, and wherein the root body comprises a biocompatible enhancement material selected from the group consisting of: a mineral trioxide substance; a cement substance; a diamond substance; a natural tissue substance; a cell substance; a protein substance; and combinations thereof
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the root body is configured to be positioned in and substantially integrated into and adopted by the jawbone structure of the pre-identified patient, and the biocompatible enhancement material is configured to promote bone integration.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the root body is configured to be positioned in and substantially integrated into and adopted by the periodontal ligament structure of the pre-identified patient, and the biocompatible enhancement material is configured to promote periodontal ligament regeneration.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the spatial custom root surface shape dimensionally matches the corresponding spatial surface shape of the root portion of the specific natural tooth.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the spatial custom root surface shape dimensionally matches an oversized representation of the corresponding spatial surface shape of the root portion of the specific natural tooth.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the spatial custom root surface shape dimensionally matches an undersized representation of the corresponding spatial surface shape of the root portion of the specific natural tooth.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the spatial custom root surface shape dimensionally matches the corresponding spatial surface shape of the receiving jawbone cavity structure.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the biocompatible enhancement material comprises the mineral trioxide substance.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 8 , wherein the mineral trioxide substance comprises a mineral trioxide aggregate.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the biocompatible enhancement material comprises the cement substance.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 10 , wherein the cement substance includes a component selected from the group consisting of: glass-ionomer cement; hybrid-ionomer cement; resin-enforced cement; Ca(OH) 2 -cement; and combinations thereof.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the biocompatible enhancement material comprises the diamond substance.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 12 , wherein the diamond substance comprises the nano-crystalline diamond substance.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 13 , wherein the nano-crystalline diamond substance forms a nano-crystalline diamond coating on the root body.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the biocompatible enhancement material comprises the natural tissue substance.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 15 , wherein the natural tissue substance includes a component selected from the group consisting of: a portion of a natural tooth; a portion of a natural root; natural cementum; and combinations thereof.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the biocompatible enhancement material comprises the cell substance.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 17 , wherein the cell substance includes a component selected from the group consisting of: ancestral cells; cell parts of a tooth; and combinations thereof.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 1 , wherein the root surface material comprises the protein substance.
. A dental prosthesis as defined in claim 19 , wherein the protein substance includes a component selected from the group consisting of: enamel matrix protein; Amelogenin; and combinations thereof.Cited by (0)
