Fungicidal composition and method for controlling plant diseases
Abstract
A fungicidal composition containing, as active ingredients, (a) a benzoylpyridine derivative represented by the following formula or its salt: wherein X is a halogen atom, a nitro group, a substitutable hydrocarbon group, a substitutable alkoxy group, a substitutable aryloxy group, a substitutable cycloalkoxy group, a hydroxyl group, a substitutable alkylthio group, a cyano group, a carboxyl group which may be esterified or amidated, or a substitutable amino group, n is 1, 2, 3 or 4; R 1 is a substitutable alkyl group, R 2′ is a substitutable alkyl group, a substitutable alkoxy group, a substitutable aryloxy group, a substitutable cycloalkoxy group or a hydroxyl group, p is 1, 2 or 3, and R 2″ is a substitutable alkoxy group or a hydroxyl group, provided that at least two of R 2′ and R 2″ optionally form a condensed ring containing an oxygen atom and (b) at least one other fungicide.

12 . A fungicidal composition, comprising:
(a) 3-(2,3,4-trimethoxy-6-methylbenzoyl)-5-chloro-2-methoxy-4-methylpyridine or a salt thereof; and (b) at least one fungicide selected from the group consisting of Epoxiconazole, Triflumizole, Oxpoconazole fumarate, Imibenconazole, Tetraconazole, Penconazole, Myclobutanil, Cyproconazole, Hexaconazole, Prochloraz, Metconazole, Prothioconazole, Simeconazole, Fluquinconazole, Triadimenol, and Propiconazole, wherein the weight ratio of (a) to (b) is from 1:1000 to 1000:1.
13 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein the fungicide (b) is at least one member selected from the group consisting of Epoxiconazole, Triflumizole, Oxpoconazole fumarate, Tebuconazole, Imibenconazole, Tetraconazole, Cyproconazole, Metconazole, Fluquinconazole, and Triadimenol.
14 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein the fungicide (b) is Hexaconazole.
15 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein the fungicide (b) is Prochloraz.
16 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein the fungicide (b) is Prothioconazole.
17 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein the fungicide (b) is Simeconazole.
18 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein the fungicide (b) is Penconazole.
19 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein the fungicide (b) is Propiconazole.
20 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein the fungicide (b) is Myclobutanil.
21 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein (a) is 3-(2,3,4-trimethoxy-6-methylbenzoyl)-5-chloro-2-methoxy-4-methylpyridine.
22 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein (a) is an acid salt of 3-(2,3,4-trimethoxy-6-methylbenzoyl)-5-chloro-2-methoxy-4-methylpyridine.
23 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein (a) is a salt of 3-(2,3,4-trimethoxy-6-methylbenzoyl)-5-chloro-2-methoxy-4-methylpyridine and an inorganic acid or an organic acid.
24 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein (a) is a salt of 3-(2,3,4-trimethoxy-6-methylbenzoyl)-5-chloro-2-methoxy-4-methylpyridine and an inorganic acid or an organic acid
25 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein (a) is a hydrochloride, hydrobromide, phosphate, sulfate, nitrate, acetate, benzoate, p-toluenesulfonate, methanesulfonate or propanesulfonate salt of 3-(2,3,4-trimethoxy-6-methylbenzoyl)-5-chloro-2-methoxy-4-methylpyridine.
26 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , wherein the weight ratio of (a) to (b) is from 2:200 to 200:1.
27 . The fungicidal composition of claim 12 , further comprising at least one adjuvant.
28 . A method of controlling plant diseases, comprising applying an effective amount of the composition of claim 12 to a plant.
