Agility ladder
Abstract
An agility ladder includes a plurality of rungs, a left link assembly disposed between each rung and including ends pivotally attached to left ends of each rung, a right link assembly disposed between each rung and including ends pivotally attached to right ends of each rung, and first and second links included on each of the left and right link assemblies. The first and second links may be pivotally attached at a link pivot joint, where, through pivotal attachment of the left and right link assemblies with the plurality of rungs and pivotal attachment of the first and second links, the plurality of rungs are moveable from an open position where the plurality of rungs are spaced apart from one another to a collapsed position where the plurality of rungs are aligned adjacent to one another and are not overlapping with one another.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An agility ladder, comprising:
a plurality of rungs; a left link assembly disposed between each rung in the plurality of rungs, the left link assembly including ends pivotally attached to left ends of each rung; a right link assembly disposed between each rung in the plurality of rungs, the right link assembly including ends pivotally attached to right ends of each rung; and first and second links included on each of the left and right link assemblies, wherein the first and second links of each of the left and right link assemblies are pivotally attached at a link pivot joint, and wherein, through pivotal attachment of the left and right link assemblies with the plurality of rungs and pivotal attachment of the first and second links, the plurality of rungs are moveable from an open position where the plurality of rungs are spaced apart from one another to a collapsed position where the plurality of rungs are aligned adjacent to one another and are not overlapping with one another.
2 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein an overall length of the agility ladder in the collapsed position is substantially equal to a sum of a combined width of each of the plurality of rungs.
3 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein rungs are touching one another when the agility ladder is in the collapsed position.
4 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein rungs are spaced apart from one another when the agility ladder is in the collapsed position.
5 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein the first and second links have substantially equal lengths.
6 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein the link pivot joint limits an angle between the first and second links to 179 degrees or less.
7 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein rungs are attached to each other only by the left and right link assemblies.
8 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein the link pivot joint includes an arcuate lug on the first link that extends into an arcuate slot on the second link.
9 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein the link pivot joint prevents the first link from moving into a position where the first link is both parallel to and not overlying the second link.
10 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein the left and right link assemblies pivot inwardly toward each other as the plurality of rungs are moved toward each other.
11 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , further comprising a first fitting disposed on either the left end or the right end of one or more of the plurality of rungs, the first fitting structurally configured for cooperation with a second fitting disposed on a second agility ladder to enable attachment and side-by-side use of at least two agility ladders.
12 . The agility ladder of claim 11 , wherein the first fitting is disposed on the left end of one or more of the plurality of rungs, and further comprising the second fitting disposed on the right end of one or more of the plurality of rungs, wherein the second fitting is complementary to the first fitting.
13 . The agility ladder of claim 12 , wherein the first fitting includes a bar and the second fitting includes a hook structurally configured to receive the bar.
14 . The agility ladder of claim 11 , wherein the first fitting includes one or more of a snap, a pin, and an interlocking tab.
15 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of rungs has a length L 1 and each of the first and second links has a length L 2 , wherein L 2 is less than one-half of L 1 .
16 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of rungs includes a substantially flat bottom section disposed between ribbed sections on a bottom surface thereof.
17 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein one or more of the left link assembly and the right link assembly is capable of being pivoted inwardly to form a triangle with two sides of the triangle formed by rungs.
18 . The agility ladder of claim 1 , wherein each left link assembly and each right link assembly is capable of being independently pivoted relative to one another such that the agility ladder can be deployed on a curve, with rungs forming acute angles relative to one another.
19 . An agility ladder, comprising:
a plurality of rungs where each rung in the plurality of rungs includes a substantially flat bottom section disposed between ribbed sections on a bottom surface thereof; a left link assembly disposed between each rung in the plurality of rungs, the left link assembly including ends pivotally attached to left ends of each rung; a right link assembly disposed between each rung in the plurality of rungs, the right link assembly including ends pivotally attached to right ends of each rung; and first and second links included on each of the left and right link assemblies, wherein the first and second links of each of the left and right link assemblies are pivotally attached at a link pivot joint.
20 . The agility ladder of claim 19 , wherein, through pivotal attachment of the left and right link assemblies with the plurality of rungs and pivotal attachment of the first and second links, the plurality of rungs are moveable from an open position where the plurality of rungs are spaced apart from one another to a collapsed position where the plurality of rungs are aligned adjacent to one another and are not overlapping with one another.Cited by (0)
