Abstract
The present invention relates to pharmaceutical and food compositions for inducing satiation and prolonging satiety in subjects in need thereof. In particular, the present invention relates to a method of inducing satiation in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a ClpB protein or an effective amount of a bacterium that expresses the ClpB protein.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 45 . (canceled)
. A method of stimulating weight loss in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a ClpB protein or an effective amount of a bacterium that expresses the ClpB protein.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the subject the subject is not obese.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the subject is obese.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the ClpB protein comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 80% of identity with SEQ ID NO:1.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the ClpB protein or the bacterium that expresses the ClpB protein is administered to the subject in the form of a pharmaceutical composition.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the ClpB protein or bacterium that expresses the ClpB protein is administered to the subject in the form of a food composition.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the bacterium that expresses the ClpB protein is a probiotic bacterial strain.
. The method of claim 52 , wherein the probiotic bacterial strain is a naturally occurring bacterial strain or is a genetically engineered bacterial strain.
. The method of claim 52 , wherein the probiotic bacterial strain is a member of the family of Enterobacteriaceae.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the bacterium that expresses the ClpB protein is a probiotic bacterial strain that is administered in the form of a food composition.
. The method of claim 55 , wherein the food composition that comprises the probiotic bacterial strain is selected from complete food compositions, food supplements, nutraceutical compositions, and the like.
. The method of claim 55 , wherein the food composition is a fermented dairy product.
. The method of claim 55 , wherein the food composition if a functional food.
. The method of claim 55 , wherein the food composition is a drink.
. The method of claim 55 , wherein the food composition is a meal replacement product.
. The method of claim 10 , wherein the food composition comprises an amount of dietary fibers.
. The method of claim 10 , wherein the food composition comprises at least one prebiotic.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the ClpB protein or the bacterium that expresses the ClpB protein is administered simultaneously or sequentially with one meal of the subject.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the method induces satiation and/or prolongs satiety in the subject.
. The method of claim 46 , wherein the method reduces the meal size and/or the food intake of the subject.Cited by (0)
