Camera module comprising lens, image pickup element

Abstract

In a camera module ( 51 ), a lid glass ( 15 ) protrudes from a sensor cover ( 14 ) toward an image pickup lens ( 1 ), and a base section ( 9 ) includes an overhanging part ( 9 b ) overhanging in such a manner as to cover part of the lid glass ( 15 ).

         9 . A camera module comprising:
 an image pickup element;   a lens provided above the image pickup element;   a housing section which has an opening facing the lens and which houses the image pickup element; and   a translucent member which closes the opening,   the housing section having a protrusion which protrudes in such a manner as to cover part of the image pickup element,   the translucent member being fixed on the protrusion,   the protrusion having a side surface which is inclined so as to be away from a center of the opening gradually in a downward direction from a side of the lens toward a side of the image pickup element.   
     
     
         10 . The camera module as set forth in  claim 9 , wherein the housing section is provided with a recess covering the opening, the recess having a side wall which is not in contact with a side wall of the translucent member. 
     
     
         11 . The camera module as set forth in  claim 9 , wherein the housing section is provided with a recess covering the opening, a space being provided between a side wall of the recess and a side wall of the translucent member. 
     
     
         12 . The camera module as set forth in  claim 11 , wherein the space surrounds the translucent member. 
     
     
         13 . The camera module as set forth in  claim 9 , wherein part of the protrusion and part of the image pickup element face each other. 
     
     
         14 . The camera module as set forth in  claim 13 , wherein the protrusion includes a first protrusion and a second protrusion in a cross section of the protrusion, each of the first protrusion and the second protrusion facing the image pickup element. 
     
     
         15 . A camera module as set forth in  claim 9 , further comprising:
 a movable section which holds the lens; and   a fixed section, fixed in a different position on the housing section from the translucent member, which drives the movable section,   the translucent member having an upper surface that is closer to the lens than a mounting surface on the housing section on which the fixed section is fixed.   
     
     
         16 . The camera module as set forth in  claim 15 , wherein the fixed section has an overhanging part overhanging in such a manner as to cover part of the translucent member.
