Abstract
A device, system and method of configuring a radio transceiver are described. In particular, there is described an RF front-end for transmitting wireless communication signals, the RF front-end comprising a plurality of elements, and wherein the RF front-end is configured to obtain an RF protection class signal and to selectively apply one or more of the plurality of elements to a transmitted signal based on the obtained RF protection class signal.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 22 . (canceled)
23 . An RF front-end for transmitting wireless communication signals, the RF front-end comprising:
a plurality of protection elements; and one or more multiplexers, coupled with the plurality of protection elements, the one or more multiplexers to selectively route a signal through a first set of the plurality of protective elements based on a selection of a first RF protection class from a plurality of RF protection classes.
24 . The RF front-end of claim 23 , wherein the RF front-end is to obtain an RF protection class signal that indicates the selection of the first RF protection class from the plurality of RF protection classes.
25 . The RF front-end of claim 24 , wherein a second RF protection class of the plurality of RF protection classes is associated with a second set of protection elements of the plurality of protection elements.
26 . The RF front-end of claim 24 , wherein the RF front-end is to obtain the RF protection class signal from a baseband processor.
27 . The RF front-end of claim 23 , wherein the plurality of protection elements provide protection by limitation of out-of-band emissions, limitation of spurious emissions, limitation of maximum power output levels, or limitation of maximum power spectral density.
28 . The RF-front-end of claim 23 , wherein the plurality of protection elements comprise a high pass filter, a low pass filter, or a bandpass filter.
29 . The RF-front-end of claim 23 , wherein the plurality of protection elements comprise one or more power limiting elements to limit output power levels, time domain amplitude levels, power spectral density limits, emission mask limits, spurious emission limits, or adjacent channel leakage power ratio limits of a signal output by the RF front-end.
30 . The RF front-end of claim 23 , wherein the first RF protection class has a value comprising: RF_protection_none; RF_protection_medium; or RF_protection_high.
31 . A reconfigurable radio device comprising:
an RF front-end comprising one or more selection elements and a plurality of protection elements; and a baseband processor comprising a radio virtual machine (RVM) operable to execute radio configuration software and to select an RF protection class from a plurality of RF protection class and transmit an RF protection class signal to the RF front-end based on the RF protection class, wherein the one or more selection elements are to selectively route a data signal through a first set of the plurality of protective elements based on the RF protection class signal.
32 . The reconfigurable radio device of claim 31 , wherein the plurality of protection elements are to provide protection by limitation of out-of-band emissions, limitation of spurious emissions, limitation of maximum power output levels, or limitation of maximum power spectral density.
33 . The reconfigurable radio device of claim 31 , wherein a second RF protection class of the plurality of RF protection classes is associated with a second set of protection elements of the plurality of protection elements.
34 . The reconfigurable radio device of claim 31 , wherein the plurality of protection elements comprise a high pass filter, a low pass filter, or a bandpass filter.
35 . The reconfigurable radio device of claim 31 , wherein the plurality of protection elements comprise one or more power limiting elements to limit output power levels, time domain amplitude levels, power spectral density limits, emission mask limits, spurious emission limits, or adjacent channel leakage power ratio limits of a signal output by the RF front-end.
36 . The reconfigurable radio device of claim 31 , wherein the first RF protection class has a value comprising: RF_protection_none; RF_protection_medium; or RF_protection_high.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
