Abstract
The present invention provides a method of ameliorating inflammation, inhibiting proinflammatory cytokine and/or chemokine expression and treating various diseases and/or conditions incidental to the onset of inflammation, in a subject in need of treatment for such conditions, by administering select analogues of native hGhrelin.

2 . A method of limiting myocardial damage during an acute myocardial infarction in a subject in need thereof according to claim 1 wherein said analogue or said prodrug thereof is H-Inp-D-Bal-D-Trp-Phe-Apc-NH 2 (SEQ ID: 2) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said peptidyl analogue of ghrelin or said prodrug thereof inhibits C-reactive protein.
