Abstract

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a portable industrial air filtration device employing an annular dual filter assembly to capture and remove impurities from the air surrounding the air filtration device, enabling the air filtration device to quickly and efficiently improve the quality and safety of the air. The air filtration device includes a two-piece housing including a lower housing component and a locking cover removably attachable to the lower housing component. The dual filter assembly is mounted within the housing between the locking cover and the lower housing component, and includes a removable self-supporting outer pre-filter surrounding a separately removable inner HEPA filter. The pre-filter initially filters the surrounding air by capturing relatively large or coarse impurities, and the HEPA filter further filters the air pulled through the pre-filter by capturing relatively small or fine impurities.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
The invention is claimed as follows:

1 . An air filtration device comprising:
a housing including a lower housing component and a locking cover removably attachable to the lower housing component, the lower housing component configured to receive a removable exterior pre-filter and a separately removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter; a fan assembly including a fan, the fan assembly mounted within a fan assembly mounting chamber defined by the lower housing component; and a processor configured to control a speed of the fan such that a rate of air flow through the air filtration device when the air filtration device is operating is within a target range and to stop the fan if the rate of air flow through the air filtration device when the air filtration device is operating cannot be sustained within the target range.

2 . The air filtration device of claim 1 , wherein the lower housing is configured mate with a lower end cap of the removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter.

3 . The air filtration device of claim 2 , wherein the locking cover is configured mate with an upper end cap of the removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter.

4 . The air filtration device of claim 1 , wherein the locking cover is configured mate with an upper end cap of the removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter.

5 . The air filtration device of claim 1 , wherein the lower housing is configured to be engaged by a pre-filter sensor triggering component of the removable exterior pre-filter.

6 . The air filtration device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to prevent operation of the air filtration device in response to the removable exterior pre-filter not being positioned in the lower housing.

7 . An air filtration device comprising:
a housing including: (a) a lower housing component including a base, a plurality of stabilizers extending upwardly from the base, the lower housing component configured to receive a removable exterior pre-filter and a separately removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter; (b) a locking cover removably attachable to the stabilizers; and (c) a fan assembly mounting chamber defined by an underside of the lower housing component; a fan assembly mounted within the fan assembly mounting chamber; and a fan assembly mounting chamber cover removably attachable to the underside of the lower housing component; and an exhaust port extending transversely and radially outward from the base and defining an exhaust channel.

8 . The air filtration device of claim 7 , wherein the lower housing is configured mate with a lower end cap of the removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter.

9 . The air filtration device of claim 8 , wherein the locking cover is configured mate with an upper end cap of the removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter.

10 . The air filtration device of claim 7 , wherein the locking cover is configured mate with an upper end cap of the removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter.

11 . The air filtration device of claim 7 , wherein the lower housing is configured to be engaged by a pre-filter sensor triggering component of the removable exterior pre-filter.

12 . The air filtration device of claim 7 , wherein the processor is configured to prevent operation of the air filtration device in response to the removable exterior pre-filter not being positioned in the lower housing.

13 . An air filtration device comprising:
a housing including: (a) a lower housing component including a base, a plurality of stabilizers extending upwardly from the base, wherein each of the stabilizers includes a latch, the lower housing component configured to receive a removable exterior pre-filter and a separately removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter; (b) a locking cover removably attachable to the stabilizers, each latch configured to engage the locking cover; and (c) a fan assembly mounting chamber defined by an underside of the lower housing component; a fan assembly mounted within the fan assembly mounting chamber; a fan assembly mounting chamber cover removably attachable to the underside of the lower housing component; and an exhaust port extending transversely from the base.

14 . The air filtration device of claim 13 , wherein the lower housing is configured mate with a lower end cap of the removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter.

15 . The air filtration device of claim 14 , wherein the locking cover is configured mate with an upper end cap of the removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter.

16 . The air filtration device of claim 13 , wherein the locking cover is configured mate with an upper end cap of the removable inner high-efficiency particulate air filter.
