Provided is an instrument tool for performing a percutaneous extraforaminotomy with foraminal ligament resection, which examines various ligaments around intervertebral foramen, artificially expands the intervertebral foramen blocked by adhesive fibrosis through repeated inflammatory reactions using epidural neurolysis or percutaneous extraforaminotomy, transmits chemical materials efficacious in pain treatment to the periphery of nervous branches causing pain through a catheter, and smoothly discharges an inflammatory material existing in spinal canal with the chemical materials through the intervertebral foramen.

1 . Instrument tools for performing a percutaneous extraforaminotomy with foraminal ligament resection, the instrument tools comprising a combination of:
a cannula including
an elongated cylindrical sleeve having a first distal end and a tapered second distal end opposite to the first distal end, wherein the elongated cylindrical sleeve includes a first guide hole which extends from the first distal end to the tapered second distal end, and
a cylindrical handle including a second guide hole positioned at a midpoint of the cylindrical handle which extends through a width of the cylindrical handle such that when the midpoint of the cylindrical handle is perpendicularly affixed to the cylindrical sleeve the second guide hole penetrated at the midpoint of the cylindrical handle, is aligned with the first guide hole penetrated from the first distal end of the elongated cylindrical sleeve, resulting in the first guide hole which extends to the tapered second distal end and the second guide hole of the cylindrical handle forming substantially a single elongated guide hole extending from an outside surface of the cylindrical handle through the elongated cylindrical sleeve to the tapered second distal end;
a trocar including
an elongated cylindrical member having a first distal end and a second distal end opposite to the first distal end, wherein the elongated cylindrical member of the trocar has an external diameter which is less than an internal diameter of the single elongated guide hole of the cannula so that the trocar can be inserted into the single elongated guide hole and the second distal end of the trocar has a needlepoint shape;
an endmill including
an elongated cylindrical member having a first distal end and a second distal end opposite to the first distal end, and
a handle affixed to the second distal end, wherein the elongated cylindrical member of the endmill has an external diameter which is less than an internal diameter of the single elongated guide hole of the cannula so that the endmill can be inserted into the single elongated guide hole and the first distal end of the endmill includes a knife blade tip having a spiral structure; and
a curret including
an elongated cylindrical member having a first distal end and a second distal end opposite to the first distal end, and
a handle affixed to the second distal end of the curret, wherein the elongated cylindrical member of the curret has an external diameter which is less than an internal diameter of the single elongated guide hole of the cannula so that the cannula can be inserted into the single elongated guide hole, the first distal end of the curret includes a concave spoon head scraper tip and the handle of the curret includes an indicating protrusion positioned on a central portion of the handle such that the indicating protrusion indicates a direction of the concave spoon head scraper tip.
2 . The instrument tools of claim 1 , wherein the trocar is configured to be inserted through the skin to an exit zone of an intervertebral foramen so as to reach a target point of an intervertebral foramen contacted with upper and lower facet joints of a treatment zone.
3 . The instrument tools of claim 2 , wherein the trocar is configured to be inserted into the cannula such that the trocar and the cannula can reach the target point of the intervertebral foramen and the trocar can be removed from the cannula.
4 . The instrument tools of claim 3 , wherein the endmill is configured to be inserted into the cannula so as to make a scratch for detaching minute ligaments blocking the intervertebral foramen from vital structures and the endmill can be removed from the cannula.
5 . The instrument tools of claim 4 , wherein the curret is configured to be inserted into the cannula to additionally detach the scratched ligaments attached to the facet joint and scrape residue.
6 . The instrument tools of claim 2 , wherein the target point includes target ligaments, wherein the target ligaments are transarticular ligaments including an inferior corporotransverse, a superior corporotransverse ligament and a horizontal mid-transforminal ligament, for spinal segments L1 to L4, and wherein the target ligaments are transarticular ligaments including a lumbosacral hood ligament and a corporotransverse ligament for spinal segment L5.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
