Abstract

A computer system is connectable to receive data representing a send transaction identifier and the computer system presents a completion interface that includes fields for receiving send transaction information comprising sender identification information, recipient identification information and options related to the transfer. In response to receipt of sufficient information entered at the completion interface, a memory stores an active, funded send transaction record in the computer system including the options.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A system comprising:
a token having stored thereon data representing a transaction identifier, and a code identifying a money transfer product type, wherein the transaction identifier is machine readable; a computer system configured for receiving data representing the transaction identifier of the token, the computer system further configured for presenting a completion interface to a customer via an access portal communicating with a database running at the computer system, said completion interface including elements reflecting the money transfer product type and fields for receiving sender identification information, recipient identification information and options for delivery features for a receive transaction with the recipient; and memory responsive to receipt of sufficient information entered at the completion interface for storing an active, funded send transaction record in the database running at the computer system with the options selected by the customer.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the recipient identification information is entered at a self-service terminal or ATM.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the token is in the form of a card and the transaction identifier is added to the token using a bar code.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the customer registers to establish a distribution profile in the database for transactions specified by the customer, the distribution profile permitting the customer to set up and initiate a range of such transactions.

5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the transactions are defined in transaction specification records that specify the recipient and the options selected by the customer.

6 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the customer is presented with options including money individual to individual money transfers or money transfers to a bank account or debit card.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the customer provides sender registration and qualification information sufficient under applicable regulatory rules to permit money transfers.

8 . The system of claim 6 , wherein registration requires identification of at least one payment source for funding the transactions, wherein the payment source comprises a third party credit or debit card, or a bank account.

9 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a reference number relating to the money transfer on the face of a card, wherein upon validation of the reference number as corresponding to the active, funded transaction, the system provides a payout approval for the recipient.

10 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the reference number comprises the transaction identifier and the transaction identifier is printed or bar code encoded on the face of the card.

         11 . A method comprising:
providing a token representing a money transfer purpose and having a transaction identifier and a code identifying a money transfer product type stored thereon, wherein the transaction identifier is machine readable; receiving at a computer system data representing the transaction identifier of the token; creating a transaction record linked to the transaction identifier; receiving at the computer system data representing the transaction identifier; and presenting a completion interface to a customer via an access portal communicating with a database running at the computer system, said completion interface including elements reflecting the money transfer purpose and fields for receiving transaction information comprising sender identification information, recipient identification information and options related to the money transfer purpose; and responsive to receipt of sufficient transaction information entered at the completion interface, storing an active, funded transaction record in the computer system including the options.

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
storing in the computer system an inactive, unfunded transaction record corresponding to the token; upon receiving the data representing the transaction identifier, modifying the corresponding transaction record to be funded; under control of the computer system, presenting the completion interface to the customer; and responsive to the receipt of sufficient transaction information, modifying the corresponding transaction record into the active, funded send transaction record with the options selected by the customer.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the completion interface comprises an interactive visual display selected by the computer system based on the money transfer purpose.

14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein access to the completion interface corresponding to a purchased money transfer is conditioned on providing a valid send transaction identifier of one of the tokens associated with the purchased money transfer.

15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the recipient identification information is entered at a self-service terminal or ATM.

16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the token is in the form of a card and the transaction identifier is printed, bar code encoded, or magnetically encoded on the token.

17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the customer establishes a distribution profile in the database for transactions specified by the customer, the distribution profile permitting the customer to set up and initiate a range of such transactions defined in transaction specification records that specify the recipient and the options selected by the customer.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the customer is presented with options including individual to individual money transfers or money transfers to a bank account or debit card.

19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein a reference number comprising the transaction identifier is printed, bar code encoded, or magnetically encoded on the face of a card.

20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein upon validation of the reference number as corresponding to the active, funded transaction, the system provides a payout approval for the recipient.
