System and method for resolving transactions with lump sum payment capabilities
Abstract
A system and method for settling of a transaction is provided. The system includes a server arrangement having a rules based engine and a meta-object system comprising a runtime utility engine configured to compile multiple meta-object instances, wherein the server arrangement is configured to receive a lump sum payment proposal from the user, the lump sum payment proposal comprising only that amount the user is presently willing to pay, process information comprising the lump sum payment proposal according to the rules, and present a second transaction settlement offer set to the user including the lump sum payment proposal and a plurality of offers limited to a plurality of installment payment options with no further immediate payment offered beyond the lump sum payment proposal.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A system for settling a transaction, comprising:
a server arrangement configured to seek available financial information pertinent to the transaction, comprising:
a rules based engine including rules established on behalf of a party to the transaction, the rules based engine configured to translate the available financial information into pertinent information used within the server arrangement to prepare and present a transaction settlement offer set comprising a plurality of selectable monetary offers to the user specifically determined for the user based on available financial information and at least one decision made by the rules based engine, each selectable monetary offer determined to facilitate settlement of the transaction; and
a meta-object system comprising a runtime utility engine configured to compile multiple meta-object instances, wherein each of the multiple meta-object instances implement one or more changes to application code, wherein implementing the one or more changes comprises inputting updates to modify contents of a relational database and time-stamping each update;
wherein the server arrangement is further configured to:
receive a lump sum payment proposal from the user, the lump sum payment proposal comprising only that amount the user is presently willing to pay;
process information comprising the lump sum payment proposal according to the rules; and
present a second transaction settlement offer set to the user including the lump sum payment proposal and a plurality of offers limited to a plurality of installment payment options with no further immediate payment offered beyond the lump sum payment proposal;
wherein the server arrangement, using the meta-object system, is configured to:
enable providing an update to an element of the relational database;
track revisions to elements of the relational database;
enable selecting an applicable time period comprising a beginning time point and an end time point; and
assemble elements for execution based on time stamps for only the selected applicable time period between the beginning time point and the end time point;
wherein when one of the plurality of installment payment options is acceptable and accepted by the user, the system processes a lump sum payment corresponding to the lump sum payment proposal.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the server arrangement further comprises a parsing module configured to receive the available financial information and parse information based on the rules established on behalf of the party to the transaction.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the server arrangement further comprises a portfolio management module configured to manage a portfolio comprising a plurality of transactions based on actions taken by multiple users and aspects associated with the portfolio.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the user comprises a debtor and the transaction comprises a debt owed by the debtor.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the transaction settlement offer set comprises at least one offer formed according to the rules.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the server arrangement further comprises a payment processing module configured to present the user with at least one payment option related to at least one offer in the transaction settlement offer set.
7 . A system configured to settle a financial transaction between a user and a party to the financial transaction, comprising:
a server arrangement comprising:
a rules engine configured to translate available data regarding the financial transaction into pertinent information used within the server arrangement in accordance with rules established on behalf of the party to the financial transaction; and
a meta-object system comprising a runtime utility engine configured to compile multiple meta-object instances, wherein each of the multiple meta-object instances implement one or more changes to application code, wherein implementing the one or more changes comprises inputting updates to modify contents of a relational database and time-stamping each update;
wherein the server arrangement is configured to present a transaction settlement offer set comprising a plurality of selectable monetary offers to the user specifically determined for the user based on at least one decision made by the rules engine, and is further configured to:
receive a lump sum payment proposal from the user, the lump sum payment proposal comprising only that amount the user is presently willing to pay; and
determine a second transaction settlement offer set including a plurality of offers based on the lump sum payment proposal received from the user,
wherein the second transaction settlement offer set includes the lump sum payment proposal from the user and a plurality of installment payment options with no further immediate payment offer provided beyond the lump sum payment proposal; wherein the server arrangement, using the meta-object system, is configured to:
enable providing an update to an element of the relational database;
track revisions to elements of the relational database;
enable selecting an applicable time period comprising a beginning time point and an end time point; and
assemble elements for execution based on time stamps for only the selected applicable time period between the beginning time point and the end time point;
wherein when one of the plurality of installment payment options is acceptable and accepted by the user, the system processes a lump sum payment corresponding to the lump sum payment proposal.
8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the user comprises a debtor and the transaction comprises a debt owed by the debtor.
9 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the rules based engine is configured to operate on information received based on rules provided on behalf of the creditor entity.
10 . The system of claim 7 , further comprising:
a parsing module configured to receive information and parse information based on the rules established on behalf of the creditor entity; and a portfolio management module configured to manage a portfolio comprising a plurality of transactions based on actions taken by multiple debtor entities and aspects associated with the portfolio.
11 . A method of settling a financial transaction between a debtor entity and a creditor entity using a computing device, comprising:
presenting a transaction settlement offer set to the debtor entity specifically determined for the user based on at least one decision made according to rules established by the creditor entity using a rules engine to translate available data regarding the financial transaction into pertinent information used within the server arrangement; compiling multiple meta-object instances, using a meta-object system comprising a runtime utility engine, wherein each of the multiple meta-object instances implement one or more changes to application code, wherein implementing the one or more changes comprises inputting updates to modify contents of a relational database and time-stamping each update; receiving a lump sum payment proposal from the debtor entity, the lump sum payment proposal comprising only that amount the debtor entity is presently willing to pay; using the rules established by the creditor entity to process the lump sum payment proposal and determine and present a second transaction settlement offer set to the debtor entity including a plurality of offers based on and including the lump sum payment proposal and a plurality of installment payment options with no further immediate payment offer provided beyond the lump sum payment proposal; enabling providing an update to an element of the relational database; tracking revisions to elements of the relational database; enabling selecting an applicable lime period comprising a beginning time point and an end time point; and assembling elements for execution based on time stamps for only the selected applicable time period between the beginning time point and the end time point.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the computing device comprises one from a group consisting of a personal digital assistant (PDA), smartphone, wireless telephone or other telephone, smart phone, tablet computing device, handheld PC, and digital camera.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising seeking financial information pertinent to the debtor entity, and when the financial information is available, receiving the financial information prior to the processing.
