Abstract

A wig base for mitigating distortions adverse to formation of a natural-appearing hairline part is presented. The wig base includes net material, cutout regions, primary clips, and optional secondary clip(s). The net material has exterior and interior surfaces and further forms an anterior portion, a peak, and a bottom opening adapted to fit a human head. The cutout regions are disposed along the net material adjacent to a forehead when placed onto the human head. Each cutout region is defined by net material enclosed by a lower fabric strip and an upper fabric strip. The net material is destructively removable from within the cutout region without damage to other portions of the net material. The natural hairline is formed along the cutout region after removal of the net material. Primary clips are separately attached to the net material along the interior surface adjacent to a leftmost side and a rightmost side about the cutout regions. Each secondary clip is attached to net material between two adjoining cutout regions.

What is claimed is:

         1 . A wig base for mitigating distortions thereto which frustrate appearance of a natural hairline after placement onto a human head comprising:
 (a) a net material with an exterior surface and an interior surface, said net material forms an anterior portion, a peak, and a bottom opening adapted to fit said human head, said bottom opening defined by a loop-shaped border; (b) at least two cutout regions disposed along said net material adjacent to a forehead when placed onto said human head, each said cutout region defined by said net material enclosed by a lower fabric strip and an upper fabric strip, said upper fabric strip includes a U-shaped intermediate portion disposed between a pair of ends, said lower fabric strip attached to said net material along said loop-shaped border, said upper fabric strip attached to said net material so that said ends contact said lower fabric strip, said net material being destructively removable from said cutout region without damage to other portions of said net material, said natural hairline formed along said cutout region after removal of said net material; and (c) a pair of primary clips disposed about said at least two cutout regions so as to mitigate said distortions along said wig base after said net material is removed from at least one of said at least two cutout regions and said wig base is placed onto said human head, one said primary clip attached to said net material along said interior surface adjacent to a leftmost side of said cutout regions, another said primary clip attached to said net material along said interior surface adjacent to a rightmost side of said cutout regions, each said primary clip attached to said net material at said loop-shaped border and extends toward said peak.

         2 . The wig base of claim 1 , wherein each said primary clip is mechanically secured to said wig base via a hem at said loop-shaped border.

         3 . The wig base of claim 1 , wherein said distortions are puckering by said net material adjacent to said cutout region with said net material removed therefrom.

         4 . The wig base of claim 1 , wherein said distortions are folding by said net material adjacent to said cutout region with said net material removed therefrom.

         5 . The wig base of claim 1 , wherein said distortions are liftoff by said net material from said human head adjacent to said cutout region with said net material removed therefrom.

         6 . The wig base of claim 1 , wherein said net material within each said cutout region being destructively removable via cutting.

         7 . The wig base of claim 1 , wherein said net material within each said cutout region being destructively removable via ripping.

         8 . The wig base of claim 1 , wherein said net material within each said cutout region being destructively removable via tearing.

         9 . The wig base of  claim 1 , further comprising;
 (d) a secondary clip disposed between two adjoining said cutout regions, said secondary clip attached to said net material at said loop-shaped border and extends toward said peak.

         10 . The wig base of claim 9 , wherein said secondary clip is mechanically secured to said wig base via a hem at said loop-shaped border.

         11 . A method for mitigating distortions along a wig base which frustrate appearance of a natural hairline comprising:
 (a) destructively removing a net material from within at least one of at least two cutout regions along said wig base without damage to other portions of said net material outside of said at least one of said at least two cutout regions, said net material having an exterior surface and an interior surface and further including:
 (i) an anterior portion, a peak, and a bottom opening formed by said net material and adapted to fit a human head along said interior surface, said bottom opening defined by a loop-shaped border;
 (ii) a lower fabric strip and an upper fabric strip defining said net material within each of said cutout regions, said upper fabric strip includes a U-shaped intermediate portion disposed between a pair of ends, said lower fabric strip attached to said net material along said loop-shaped border, said upper fabric strip attached to said net material so that said ends contact said lower fabric strip; and
 (iii) a pair of primary clips disposed about said cutout regions, one said primary clip attached to said net material along said interior surface adjacent to a leftmost side of said cutout regions, another said primary clip attached to said net material along said interior surface adjacent to a rightmost side of said cutout regions, each said primary clip attached to said net material at said loop-shaped border and extends toward said peak;
   (b) placing said wig base onto said human head after said destructively removing step so that said cutout regions are disposed adjacent to a forehead; (c) securing said primary clips to said human head at opposite sides of said forehead after said placing step, said primary clips mechanically engage a natural hair adjacent to said forehead; (d) resisting said distortions along said wig base via said primary clips after said securing step; and (e) forming appearance of said natural hairline by blending said natural hair with a wig base hair along said cutout region after said resisting step.

         12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein each said primary clip is mechanically secured to said wig base via a hem at said loop-shaped border.

         13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said distortions are caused by dissipation of tensile forces along said net material.

         14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein said dissipation of tensile forces causes said net material to pucker.

         15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein said dissipation of tensile forces induces folds onto said net material.

         16 . The method of claim 13 , wherein said dissipation of tensile forces causes said net material to liftoff from said human head.

         17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said destructively removing step is via cutting.
