Method and apparatus for notifying parameter changes of access control mechanism
Abstract
Accordingly, the disclosure provides a method and a user equipment for notifying parameter changes of an access control mechanism. In one of the exemplary embodiments, the method would include not limited to: receiving a first paging message which includes an indicator indicating whether a parameter of an access control mechanism is modified, wherein the access control mechanism bars at least one access class of the multiple access classes; acquiring the parameter of the access control mechanism from a system information block to determine whether the specific access class is barred in response to receiving the first paging message which includes the indicator indicating the parameter of the access control mechanism has been modified; not performing a random access in response to determining that the specific access class has been barred.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method used by a user equipment belonging to a specific access class of multiple access classes for notifying parameter changes of an access control mechanism, the method comprising:
receiving a first paging message which comprises an indicator indicating that a parameter of an access control mechanism is modified, wherein the access control mechanism bars at least one access class of the multiple access classes; acquiring the parameter of the access control mechanism from a system information block to determine whether the specific access class is barred in response to receiving the first paging message which comprises the indicator indicating the parameter of the access control mechanism has been modified; not performing a random access in response to determining that the specific access class has been barred; receiving a second paging message; acquiring the parameter of the access control mechanism from the system information block to determine whether the specific access class is barred in response to receiving the second paging message from which the second paging message indicates the parameter of the access control mechanism has been modified; and performing a random access in response to the specific access class not being barred.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the indicator indicates multiple states represented by different binary values, the multiple states comprise a first state and a second state, and changing from the first state to the second state indicates that the parameter of the access control mechanism has been modified.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the indicator indicates multiple states represented by different binary values comprising:
the indicator indicates at least four states by at least two binary bits, wherein the four states further comprise a third state and a fourth state.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the third state indicates an activation of the access control mechanism, and the fourth state indicates a disablement of the access control mechanism.
5 . The method of claim 1 further comprising:
acquiring the parameter of the access control mechanism in response to a random access being needed; and
re-acquiring the parameter of the access control mechanism every a first predetermined period.
6 . The method of claim 5 further comprising:
determining whether the UE is barred by the access control mechanism in response to acquiring or re-acquiring of the parameter of the access control mechanism.
7 . The method of claim 6 further comprising:
in response to the UE being barred by the access control mechanism:
waiting for a second predetermined period before re-acquiring the parameter of the access control mechanism; or
re-acquiring the parameter of the access control mechanism in response to the indicator indicating the access control parameter has been modified.
8 . A user equipment (UE) comprising:
a transceiver; and a processor coupled to the transceiver and configured to:
receive a first paging message which comprises an indicator indicating whether a parameter of an access control mechanism is modified, wherein the access control mechanism bars at least one access class of the multiple access classes;
acquire the parameter of the access control mechanism from a system information block to determine whether the specific access class is barred in response to receiving the first paging message which comprises the indicator indicating the parameter of the access control mechanism has been modified;
not perform a random access in response to determining that the specific access class has been barred;
receive a second paging message;
acquire the parameter of the access control mechanism from the system information block to determine whether the specific access class is barred in response to receiving the second paging message from which the second paging message indicates the parameter of the access control mechanism has been modified; and
perform a random access in response to the specific access class not being barred.
9 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the indicator indicates multiple states represented by different binary values, the multiple states comprise a first state and a second state, and changing from the first state to the second state indicates that the parameter of the access control mechanism has been modified.
10 . The UE of claim 9 , wherein the indicator indicates multiple states represented by different binary values comprising:
the indicator indicates at least four states by at least two binary bits, wherein the four states further comprise a third state and a fourth state.
11 . The UE of claim 10 , wherein the third state indicates an activation of the access control mechanism, and the fourth state indicates a disablement of the access control mechanism.
12 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
acquire the parameter of the access control mechanism in response to a random access being needed; and re-acquire the parameter of the access control mechanism every a first predetermined period.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
determine whether the UE is barred by the access control mechanism in response to acquiring or re-acquiring of the parameter of the access control mechanism.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein in response to the UE being barred by the access control mechanism, the processor is further configured to:
wait for a second predetermined period before re-acquiring the parameter of the access control mechanism; or re-acquire the parameter of the access control mechanism in response to the indicator indicating the access control parameter has been modified.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
