Abstract
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a feral hog control system including bait comprising a carrier material and an amount of warfarin, wherein the amount of warfarin is not greater than about 0.01% by weight of the bait. Further disclosed herein are embodiments of a selective access device for permitting selective access to the bait when the bait is disposed within a feeder.

a bait comprising:
a carrier material;
an amount of warfarin not greater than about 0.01% by weight of said bait; and
a colorant;
wherein said colorant is taken up by fat of a feral hog following ingestion to visibly color said fat.
2 . The feral hog control system of claim 1 , wherein said amount of warfarin is lethal to said feral hog.
3 . The feral hog control system of claim 2 , wherein chronic dosing of said amount of warfarin is lethal to said feral hog.
4 . The feral hog control system of claim 3 , wherein death of said feral hog occurs within not greater than about ten days following exposure to said bait.
5 . The feral hog control system of claim 1 , wherein said carrier material comprises a binder.
6 . The feral hog control system of claim 5 , wherein said bait is substantially solid.
7 . The feral hog control system of claim 6 , wherein said bait is substantially homogenous.
8 . The feral hog control system of claim 5 , wherein said binder comprises wax.
9 . The feral hog control system of claim 1 , wherein said bait further comprises one or more attractants.
10 . The feral hog control system of claim 1 , wherein said colorant provides a blue color.
11 . The feral hog control system of claim 10 , wherein said colorant is taken up by said fat of said feral hog following ingestion to visibly color said fat blue.
12 . A method of making a feral hog control system, comprising:
combining a carrier material, an amount of warfarin, and a colorant to provide a bait; wherein said amount of warfarin is not greater than about 0.01% by weight of said bait; and wherein said colorant is taken up by fat of a feral hog following ingestion to visibly color said fat.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein said amount of warfarin is lethal to said feral hog.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein chronic dosing of said amount of warfarin is lethal to said feral hog.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein death of said feral hog occurs within not greater than about ten days following exposure to said bait.
16 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising providing a binder as said carrier material.
17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising formulating said bait to be substantially solid.
18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising formulating said bait to be substantially homogenous.
19 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising providing wax as said binder.
20 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising adding one or more attractants to said bait.
21 . The method of claim 12 , wherein said colorant provides a blue color.
