Abstract
A protective garment is disclosed herein. The protective garment includes a fingerless glove, a pocket, and a pad. The protective garment is useful for reducing pain from contacting objects after carpal tunnel surgery. The pocket of the fingerless glove covers from the middle of the palm of the hand to the wrist. A pad is inserted into the pocket which is useful for alleviating contact force against the palm of the hand of the user.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is new and desired to be protected by Letters Patent is set forth in the appended claims:
1 . A protective garment comprising:
a fingerless glove having;
a pocket, the pocket fixedly joined to a palm-side of the fingerless glove; and
a pad, the pad configured to fit inside the pocket;
wherein the pad acts as a buffer for protecting a palm of a hand of a user.
2 . The protective garment of claim 1 , wherein the fingerless glove integrally comprises a sleeve enveloping a wrist of the user.
3 . The protective garment of claim 2 , wherein the fingerless glove comprises a flap fixedly attached to the pocket.
4 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the flap is configured to position the pad about the palm of the user.
5 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the flap is configured to adjust the fingerless glove on the hand of the user.
6 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the pocket of the fingerless glove is openable and closeable via hook and loop fasteners.
7 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the pocket of the fingerless glove is openable and closeable via at least one snap fastener.
8 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the pocket is openable and closeable via a zipper.
9 . The protective garment of claim 1 , wherein the pocket of the fingerless glove is sewn shut after the pad is inserted into the pocket.
10 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the fingerless glove and the sleeve are constructed from compression material for preventing unwanted movement of the fingerless glove and the sleeve.
11 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the pocket is positioned between a middle of the palm and the wrist of the user.
12 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the fingerless glove allows freedom of movement of the fingers and thumb.
13 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the fingerless glove is configured to fit a right hand of the user.
14 . The protective garment of claim 3 , wherein the fingerless glove is configured to fit a left hand of the user.
15 . The protective garment of claim 1 , wherein the pad is configured to alleviate contact force against the palm of the hand of the user.
16 . The protective garment of claim 1 , wherein the sleeve is configured to immobilize the wrist thereby decreasing pressure within the carpal tunnel.
17 . A protective garment comprising:
a fingerless glove having;
a pocket, the pocket fixedly joined to a palm-side of the fingerless glove; and
a pad, the pad configured to fit inside the pocket;
wherein the pad acts as a buffer for protecting a palm of a hand of a user, wherein the fingerless glove integrally comprises a sleeve enveloping a wrist of the user, and configured to inhibit movement of the wrist of the user thereby decreasing pressure within the carpal tunnel, wherein the fingerless glove and the sleeve are constructed from compression material for preventing unwanted movement of the fingerless glove and the sleeve, wherein the pocket of the fingerless glove is openable and closeable via hook and loop fasteners, wherein the pocket is positioned between a middle of the palm and the wrist of the user, wherein the fingerless glove comprises a flap fixedly attached to the pocket, wherein the flap is configured to position the pad about the palm of the user, and configured to adjust the fingerless glove on the hand of the user, wherein the fingerless glove allows freedom of movement of the fingers and thumb, and wherein the pad is configured to alleviate contact force against the palm of the hand of the user.
18 . The protective garment of claim 17 , further comprising set of instructions; and
wherein the protective garment is arranged as a kit.
19 . A method of wearing the protective garment, the method comprising the steps of:
pulling a fingerless glove with an integral sleeve onto a hand and wrist of a user; adjusting a flap on the fingerless glove to fit the user; and positioning a pad of the fingerless glove about a palm of the user.Cited by (0)
