Methods of Treating an Overweight or Obese Subject

Abstract

The invention generally relates to methods of treating an overweight or obese subject, and treating overweight- or obesity-related conditions. In certain embodiments, the invention provides a method of treating an overweight or obese subject including administering a MetAP2 inhibitor in which the amount administered does not substantially modulate angiogenesis.

A method for treating obesity in a human patient in need thereof, comprising subcutaneously administering about 0.005 to about 0.049 mg/kg, 1, 2 or 3 times a week, of a MetAP2 inhibitor selected from O-(4-dimethylaminoethoxycinnamoyl)fumagillol and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, to said patient. 
     
     
         52 . The method of  claim 51 , wherein the MetAP2 inhibitor is an oxalate salt of O-(4-dimethylaminoethoxycinnamoyl)fumagillol.
