Abstract

Display control that extends a user's visual ability is accomplished. By wearing an eyeglass-type or headgear-type mounting unit, he or she is allowed to see display means disposed in front of his or her eyes. By causing a part of a screen area of the display means to be in a through-state and a display with a display image signal to be executed, the user can see an image of a scene different from a scene that he or she ordinarily sees with a display of the display image signal while he or she can see the ordinary visual scene with the through-state area.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

         2 : A wearable apparatus comprising:
a display device to display an image on an entire screen of the display device; a mounting support configured to secure the display device to a head or a face of a user; a sensor configured to capture an outside scene in a direction faced by the user when the wearable apparatus is worn by the user; and circuitry configured to
control a user-visible scene that is visible by the user when the wearable apparatus is worn by the user, and
switch the user-visible scene to the outside scene and a scene which is different from the outside scene.

3 : The wearable apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the display device is configured to display two scenes simultaneously as the user-visible scene.

4 : The wearable apparatus of claim 3 , wherein one of the two scenes corresponds to an image captured by the sensor.

5 : The wearable apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the display device is configured to display an image captured by the sensor as the user-visible scene.

6 : The wearable apparatus of claim 2 , further comprising:
a detector configured to detect an external situation associated with the wearable apparatus, wherein the display device is configured to display an image in which the captured image is modified based on the detected external situation.

7 : The wearable apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the display device is configured to display the image in which the captured image is modified such that one of luminance level, contrast, and sharpness is adjusted based on the detected external situation associated with the wearable apparatus.

8 : The wearable apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the circuitry is configured to cause the sensor to adjust image capturing sensitivity based on the detected external situation associated with the wearable apparatus.

9 : The wearable apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the circuitry is configured to
acquire latitude and longitude information of a current position of the wearable apparatus, transmit the latitude and longitude information to an external device that is external to the wearable apparatus, and receive, from the external device, additional information associated with the current position of the wearable apparatus.

10 : A method for a wearable apparatus, the wearable apparatus including a display device to display an image on an entire screen of the display device, a mounting support configured to secure the display device to a head or a face of a user, a sensor, and circuitry, the method comprising:
capturing, by the sensor, an outside scene in a direction faced by the user when the wearable apparatus is worn by the user; controlling, by the circuitry, a user-visible scene that is visible by the user when the wearable apparatus is worn by the user; and switching, by the circuitry, the user-visible scene to the outside scene and a scene which is different from the outside scene.

11 : The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
displaying, by the display device, two scenes simultaneously as the user-visible scene.

12 : The method of claim 11 , wherein one of the two scenes corresponds to an image captured by the capturing.

13 : The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
displaying, by the display device, an image captured by the capturing as the user-visible scene.

14 : The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
detecting an external situation associated with the wearable apparatus; and displaying, by the display device, an image in which the captured image is modified based on the detected external situation.

15 : The method of claim 14 , wherein the displaying displays the image in which the captured image is modified such that one of luminance level, contrast, and sharpness is adjusted based on the detected external situation associated with the wearable apparatus.

16 : The method of claim 14 , further comprising:
causing the sensor to adjust image capturing sensitivity based on the detected external situation associated with the wearable apparatus.

17 : The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
acquiring latitude and longitude information of a current position of the wearable apparatus; transmitting the latitude and longitude information to an external device that is external to the wearable apparatus; and receiving, from the external device, additional information associated with the current position of the wearable apparatus.
