Abstract

A method for transmitting supplemental content to a user device via a radio service system, the method includes receiving user listening information, retrieving supplemental content based at least in part on the user listening information to enrich the listening experience of a user, retrieving, a call to action configured to be operable by the user and, transmitting to the user device, the supplemental content and the call to action.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method for transmitting supplemental content to a user device via a radio service system, the method comprising:
receiving, at the radio service system, user listening information; retrieving, at the radio service system, supplemental content based at least in part on the user listening information, the supplemental content configured to enrich the listening experience of a user; retrieving, at the radio service system, a call to action, the call to action configured to be operable by the user via the user device, the call to action selected at least in part on the user listening information; and transmitting, by the radio service, to the user device, the supplemental content and the call to action.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user listening information comprises a current radio station tuned into via the user device.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the user listening information comprises a current song being played via the current radio station.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the current radio station is selected from a group consisting of a frequency modulation (FM) station, amplitude modulation (AM) station, and digital broadcast station.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user listening information further comprises location information

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of retrieving a unique identifier (UID) for each broadcast transmitted via the radio service system, the UID selected form a group consisting of a digital play out system, an HD radio program service data (PSD), and an application programming interface (API).

7 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising the step of matching the UID to a supplemental content identifier configured to identify supplemental content.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the supplemental content is selected from a group consisting of song lyrics, album art, suggested tracks, biographical information of a singer or speaker, and upcoming shows in proximity to the user device.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the supplemental content is retrieved from a local radio station, the local radio station in radio transmitting proximity to the user device.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the supplemental content is retrieved from a remote radio station, the remote radio station being listened to by the user via the user device.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the call to action is selected from a group consisting of clicking on advertisements, purchasing a song, purchasing an album, interacting via social networks, calling a number in an advertisement, operating a website link, downloading an album or song, downloading a coupon, making calendar interactions, and sending text messages or email.

12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of receiving at the radio service system, a user request.

13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the user request comprises an operation of the call to action by the user.

14 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of fulfilling the user request.
