Abstract

A method, apparatus and a computer readable record media storing instructions for executing the same method for interfacing among a hybrid type synchronous or asynchronous terminal to a core network in a next generation mobile telecommunications system. The hybrid type synchronous or asynchronous radio network determines the operating type of the core network when the core network has a connection thereto, and sends the determined core network operating type information and information related to the core network to the hybrid type synchronous or asynchronous terminal, thereby allowing the synchronous or asynchronous terminal to smoothly perform a data interfacing operation with the core network.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A wireless communication terminal comprising a layered protocol structure to communicate with an asynchronous core network through a synchronous radio network,
the wireless communication terminal comprising: a physical layer to communicate with a physical layer of the asynchronous core network through a physical layer of the synchronous radio network; a data link layer to communicate with a data link layer of the asynchronous core network through a data link layer of the synchronous radio network; and a network layer comprising an asynchronous call control (CC) entity and an asynchronous mobility management (MM) entity.

2 . The wireless communication terminal of claim 1 , wherein the network layer further comprises a synchronous radio resource (RR) sub layer to communicate with a synchronous radio resource (RR) sub layer of the synchronous radio network.

3 . A method of a wireless communication terminal comprising a layered protocol structure, the wireless communication terminal communicating with an asynchronous core network through a synchronous radio network,
the method comprising: activating an asynchronous call control (CC) entity of the wireless communication terminal and an asynchronous mobile management (MM) entity of the wireless communication terminal; and communicating with an asynchronous core network through a synchronous radio network using the activated asynchronous call control (CC) entity and the activated asynchronous mobile management (MM) entity.

4 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising:
communicating with the asynchronous core network through the synchronous radio network using a synchronous radio resource (RR) sub layer of the wireless communication terminal, wherein the synchronous radio resource (RR) sub layer of the wireless communication terminal communicates with a synchronous radio resource (RR) sub layer of the synchronous radio network.

5 . A wireless communication terminal comprising a layered protocol structure to communicate with a synchronous core network through an asynchronous radio network,
the wireless communication terminal comprising: a physical layer to communicate with a physical layer of the synchronous core network through a physical layer of the asynchronous radio network; a data link layer to communicate with a data link layer of the synchronous core network through a data link layer of the asynchronous radio network; and a network layer comprising a synchronous call control (CC) entity and a synchronous mobility management (MM) entity.

6 . The wireless communication terminal of claim 5 , wherein the network layer further comprises an asynchronous radio resource control (RRC) part to communicate with an asynchronous radio resource control (RRC) part of the asynchronous radio network.
