Abstract

Described herein is a body camera, a method of operating a body camera, a system for a body camera, and methods and systems for configuring a body camera. The body camera may include a digital camera configured to capture video. The body camera may also include one or more sensors for sensing data about the environment experienced by the body camera. The body camera may also include a global positioning system (GPS) receiver. The body camera may also include a transceiver for streaming video and sensor data.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A recording device, the recording device comprising:
a digital camera configured to capture video data, wherein the digital camera includes optics configured to enable 360 degree recording; a processor configured to generate an augmented video stream by marking the video data with contemporaneous metadata; a memory configured to store at least a portion of the video data or at least a portion of the augmented video stream; and a wireless transmitter configured to configured to stream the augmented video stream using Wi-Fi or cellular transmission.

2 . The recording device of claim 1 further comprising:
one or more accessories to mount the recording device on a shoulder of a wearer of the recording device.

3 . The recording device of claim 1 , wherein the digital camera and processor are further configured to perform iris scanning.

4 . The recording device of claim 1 , wherein the digital camera and processor are further configured to perform recognition of one or more objects, wherein the one or more objects include text, a street sign, a building, a license plate, or a face.

5 . The recording device of claim 1 , further comprising a microphone, wherein the microphone and processor are configured to:
recognize at least one voice command; and activate at least one command in response to the at least one voice command.

6 . The recording device of claim 1 , further comprising a microphone, wherein the processor and transmitter are configured to transmit voice information received via the microphone to another device for further processing.

7 . The recording device of claim 1 , further comprising one or more sensors configured to detect situational awareness, wherein the one or more sensors include a global positioning system (GPS) receiver, a geofence sensor, or an inertial measurement unit (IMU).

8 . The recording device of claim 1 , wherein the recording device is configured to accept power from a silicon-based battery or a fuel cell.

9 . The recording device of claim 1 , wherein the processor and transmitter are configured to automatically stream the augmented video stream based on a geofence, a recipient ID, or a service set identifier (SSID).

10 . The recording device of claim 1 , wherein the recording device is configured to receive remote commands to control recording the video data or the streaming of the augmented video stream.

11 . A method for execution by a recording device, the method comprising:
capturing 360 degree video data; generating an augmented video stream by marking the 360 degree video data with contemporaneous metadata; storing at least a portion of the 360 degree video data or at least a portion of the augmented video stream; and streaming the augmented video stream using Wi-Fi or cellular transmission.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the recording device is mounted on a shoulder of a wearer of the recording device.

13 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising performing iris scanning.

14 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising recognizing one or more objects, wherein the one or more objects include text, a street sign, a building, a license plate, or a face.

15 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
recognizing at least one voice command; and activating at least one command in response to the at least one voice command.

16 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising transmitting voice information received via a microphone to another device for further processing.

17 . The method of claim 11 detecting situation awareness via a global positioning system (GPS) receiver, a geofence sensor, or an inertial measurement unit (IMU).

18 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising accepting power from a silicon-based battery or a fuel cell.

19 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising automatically streaming the augmented video stream based on a geofence, a recipient ID, or a service set identifier (SSID).

20 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising receiving remote commands to control recording the 360 degree video data or the streaming of the augmented video stream.
