Abstract

Coated articles and methods for applying coatings are described. In some cases, the coating can exhibit desirable properties and characteristics such as durability, corrosion resistance, and high conductivity. The articles may be coated, for example, using an electrodeposition process.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed:

         1 . An article, comprising:
a base material; a coating formed on the base material, the coating comprising: a first layer comprising Ni, and W and/or Mo, wherein the first layer is nanocrystalline or amorphous; and a second layer formed on the first layer, the second layer comprising a metal selected from the group consisting of Au, Ru, Os, Rh, Ir, Pd, Pt, and/or Ag, wherein the second layer has a thickness of less than 30 microinches, and the second layer is nanocrystalline or amorphous.
