Mobile terminal and method for controlling the same

Abstract

A mobile terminal is disclosed, which comprises a memory configured to store a plurality of images, a display unit configured to display an execution screen of a camera application, a camera configured to acquire a preview image and a controller configured to control the display unit to display the preview image on a first area within the execution screen, wherein the controller is further configured to control the display unit to display a plurality of thumbnail images corresponding to a plurality of images stored in the memory on a second area within the execution screen.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A mobile terminal comprising:
 a memory configured to store a plurality of images;   a display unit configured to display an execution screen of a camera application;   a camera configured to acquire a preview image; and   a controller configured to control the display unit to display the preview image on a first area within the execution screen,   wherein the controller is further configured to control the display unit to display a plurality of thumbnail images corresponding to the plurality of images stored in the memory on a second area within the execution screen.   
     
     
         2 . The mobile terminal according to  claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 in response to a first input for selecting a first thumbnail image, control the display unit to display a part of the preview image and a part of a first image corresponding to the first thumbnail image among the plurality of thumbnail images on the first area.   
     
     
         3 . The mobile terminal according to  claim 2 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 in response to the first input, split the first area into a third area and a fourth area, and   control the display unit to display a part of the first image on the third area and display a part of the preview image on the fourth area.   
     
     
         4 . The mobile terminal according to  claim 3 , wherein the part of the first image corresponds to a part corresponding to the third area within the first image, and
 wherein the part of the second image corresponds to a part corresponding to the fourth area within the preview image.   
     
     
         5 . The mobile terminal according to  claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 in response to a third input for capturing an image, acquire the part of the first image and the part of the preview image as one image, and   store the acquired image in the memory.   
     
     
         6 . The mobile terminal according to  claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 in response to the first input for selecting the first thumbnail image among the plurality of thumbnail images, control the display unit to display the first image corresponding to the first thumbnail image instead of the preview image on the first area within the execution screen.   
     
     
         7 . The mobile terminal according to  claim 6 , wherein the first input is a touch input for touching the area on which the first thumbnail image is displayed at a predetermined pressure. 
     
     
         8 . The mobile terminal according to  claim 6 , wherein the controller is further configured to control the display unit to display an indicator corresponding to a process function of the first image instead of an indicator corresponding to functions of the camera application on the third area if the first image is displayed instead of the preview image. 
     
     
         9 . The mobile terminal according to  claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 control the display unit to recognize an object within the preview image,   extract an image, which includes an object corresponding to the recognized object, among the plurality of images stored in the memory, and   display a thumbnail image corresponding to the extracted image on the second area.   
     
     
         10 . A mobile terminal comprising:
 a memory configured to store a plurality of images;   a display unit configured to display an execution screen of a camera application;   a camera configured to acquire a preview image; and   a controller configured to control the display unit to display the preview image on a first area within the execution screen,   wherein the controller is further configured to:   control the display unit to display a plurality of thumbnail images corresponding to a plurality of images stored in the memory on a second area within the execution screen, and   in response to a first input for selecting the first thumbnail image among the plurality of thumbnail images, control the display unit to overlap a first image corresponding to the first thumbnail image on the preview image,   wherein the first image is transparent.
