Aspects of the systems include devices having a sealable container dimensioned to accommodate a pharmaceutical composition; and an amount of an inactivating substance, e.g., granulated or pelletized activated carbon, present inside of the of sealable container. Aspects of the invention further include methods of making and using the systems, as well as kits comprises the devices of the system.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 55 . (canceled)

56 . A device for use in disposing an amount of a substance, the device comprising:
a sealable container dimensioned to accommodate the substance; and an amount of granulated or pelletized activated carbon present inside of the sealable container.

57 . The device according to claim 56 , wherein the sealable container is a re-sealable container.

58 . The device according to claim 56 , wherein the container is configured as a pouch.

59 . The device according to claim 56 , wherein the granulated or pelletized activated carbon comprises activated carbon particles ranging in size from 0.25 to 5.0 mm.

60 . The device according to claim 56 , wherein the amount of granulated or pelletized activated carbon is contained in a liquid permeable enclosure inside of the sealable container.

61 . The device according to claim 60 , wherein the liquid permeable enclosure is a water permeable enclosure.

62 . The device according to claim 56 , wherein the container comprises a vent.

63 . The device according to claim 56 , wherein the container is configured to receive an amount of a liquid.

64 . The device according to claim 63 , wherein the liquid is an aqueous liquid.

65 . The device according to claim 56 , wherein the device comprises a suspending agent.

66 . A device for use in disposing an amount of a substance, the device comprising:
a sealable container dimensioned to accommodate the substance; and an amount of an inactivating substance present inside of the sealable container,
wherein the inactivating substance is not present in a free-flowing form.

67 . The device according to claim 66 , wherein the inactivating substance is activated carbon.

68 . The device according to claim 67 , wherein the activated carbon is present in powdered, granulated or pelletized form.

69 . The device according to claim 66 , wherein the amount of inactivating substance is present in a liquid permeable pouch.

70 . The device according to claim 66 , wherein the amount of inactivating substance is adhered to at least a portion of the inner surface of the container.

71 . A method of disposing an amount of a substance, the method comprising:
placing the amount of the substance into a sealable container comprising an amount of granulated or pelletized activated carbon present inside of the sealable container; and sealing the sealable container.

72 . The method according to claim 71 , wherein the sealable container is configured to receive an amount of a liquid.

73 . The method according to claim 71 , wherein the method comprises disposing the container in a municipal sanitation system.

74 . A method of disposing an amount of a substance, the method comprising:
placing the amount of the substance into a sealable container comprising an amount of an inactivating substance inside of the sealable container, wherein the inactivating substance is not present in a free-flowing form; and sealing the sealable container.

75 . The method according to claim 74 , wherein the sealable container is configured to receive an amount of a liquid.

76 . The method according to claim 74 , wherein the method comprises disposing the container in a municipal sanitation system.
