Stacking device and image forming apparatus

Abstract

When an operating lever is moved from an operation position to a stand-by position, a standard size fixing member is lowered in advance of a non-standard size fixing member, so that a regulating member for regulating a position of an end portion of a sheet can be set to a desired position, enabling stable sheet feeding.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A stacking device for stacking a sheet, the stacking device comprising:
 a stacking portion on which a sheet is stacked;   a regulating device configured to regulate a position of an edge portion of the sheet, provided on the stacking portion to be movable in a first direction and in a second direction that is an opposite direction to the first direction;   a plurality of first engaged portions provided in a direction parallel to a moving direction of the regulating device, the plurality of first engaged portions including a plurality of holes provided at corresponding positions of a standard-size sheet; and   a plurality of second engaged portions provided in the direction parallel to the moving direction of the regulating device, the plurality of second engaged portions being provided at different positions with respect to the plurality of holes in a direction intersecting with the moving direction of the regulating device, the plurality of second engaged portions including a rack gear formed of a plurality of teeth,   wherein the regulating device includes:   a holding member;   a lever movable with respect to the holding member and used for operation;   a first engaging portion engageable with the plurality of holes and movable in a vertical direction;   a second engaging portion engageable with the rack gear and movable in a vertical direction; and   
       a releasing unit configured to release an engaged state of the second engaging portion and the rack gear, the releasing unit being configured to change a state of the second engaging portion and the rack gear from the engaged state to a released state by the lever being moved from a first position to a second position,
 wherein in a case where the lever is moved from the second position to the first position while the first engaging portion 
 is at a position corresponding to the holes, the releasing unit changes the state from the released state to the engaged state after the first engaging portion is engaged with the holes. 
 
     
     
         2 . The stacking device according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein the first engaging portion has a protrusion to be inserted into the hole, and   wherein the second engaging portion has a teeth shape, including more than one tooth, to be engaged with the rack gear.   
     
     
         3 . The stacking device according to  claim 3 , wherein the protrusion is larger than the teeth shape in a height direction. 
     
     
         4 . The stacking device according to  claim 3 , wherein the protrusion has a slope guided to the hole. 
     
     
         5 . The stacking device according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein the lever is movable around a rotation axis, and   wherein the releasing unit is configured in such a manner that the second engaging portion is moved in a vertical direction by the lever being rotated.   
     
     
         6 . The stacking device according to  claim 2 , wherein the regulating member regulates a position of a trailing edge of a sheet.
