Abstract

The described technology is directed towards a computer program such as a browser that outputs augmented objects. The program is coupled to obtain object-related recognizer data of an object, communicate the object-related recognizer data to a registration service, receive augmentation data from the recognizer service and output at least part of the augmentation data in association with the object as an augmented object. Aspects include obtaining object-related recognizer data of an object, communicating the object-related recognizer data to a registration service, receiving augmentation data from the recognizer service, and outputting at least part of the augmentation data in association with the object as an augmented object.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A system comprising, a computer program that outputs augmented objects, the computer program coupled to obtain object-related recognizer data from a registration service, receive object-related rendering data from the recognizer service or from a storage, and output at least part of the object-related rendering data in association with the object as an augmented object.

2 . The system of claim 1 wherein the computer program comprises a browser.

3 . The system of claim 1 wherein the computer program outputs the augmentation data on a face of a pod.

4 . The system of claim 3 wherein the augmentation data comprises an advertisement.

5 . The system of claim 3 further comprising a pod handling surface that sells or leases the face of the pod.

6 . The system of claim 3 further comprising a pod handling surface that auctions the face of the pod.

7 . The system of claim 1 wherein the object-related recognizer data of an object comprises at least one of: GPS data, camera data or motion information.

         8 . A computer-implemented method, comprising
obtaining object-related recognizer data of an object; communicating the object-related recognizer data to a registration service; receiving augmentation data from the recognizer service; and outputting at least part of the augmentation data in association with the object as an augmented object.

9 . The method of claim 8 wherein outputting the at least part of the augmentation data in association with the object as an augmented object comprises outputting the augmentation data on a face of a pod.

10 . A computer program that outputs augmented objects, the computer program coupled to obtain object-related recognizer data from a registration service, use the recognizer data to locate augmented objects, receive object-related rendering data from the recognizer service or from a storage, and output at least part of the object-related rendering data in association with the object as an augmented object.

11 . The computer program of claim 10 wherein the object-related recognizer data of an object comprises of one or more of: GPS data, Wi-Fi location, OCR scans, image scans, floor configuration and floor orientation, building configuration, building orientation, retail space configuration or retail space orientations.

12 . The computer program of claim 10 wherein the computer program triggers recognition when a device on which the computer program executes is mobile, or when the object is mobile, or when both the object and the device on which the computer program executes are mobile.
