Wearable Biometric Measurement Device
Abstract
A wearable biometric measurement device includes a ring body having interior and exterior surfaces, an electrocardiogram component including first and second electrodes wherein a single lead electrocardiogram is formed upon contact with the first electrode and the second electrode, a pulse oximeter component including a light emitter and a photodetector wherein the photodetector receives one or more signals transmitted by the light emitter, and a communication component. A system for measuring and processing biometric data includes a wearable biometric measurement device, a monitor device, and a server. A method for measuring biometric data using a wearable biometric measurement device includes pre-processing biometric signals, feature extraction on the signals, and event prediction with respect to the signals.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A device for biometric measurement, comprising:
a ring body having interior and exterior surfaces; an electrocardiogram (ECG) component comprising:
a first electrode coupled to the interior surface of the ring body; and
a second electrode coupled to the exterior surface of the ring body,
wherein a single lead ECG is formed upon contact with the first electrode and the second electrode;
a pulse oximeter (PO) component comprising:
a light emitter coupled to a first portion of the interior surface of the ring body; and
a photodetector coupled to a second portion of the interior surface of the ring body,
wherein the photodetector receives one or more signals transmitted by the light emitter; and
a communication component coupled to the ring body.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the communication component transmits data obtained from the ECG component and the PO component to at least one of a monitor device and a server, and the monitor device is a smartphone or tablet.
3 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the server analyzes the data transmitted by the ECG component and the PO component and communicates the analyzed ECG and PO data to the monitor device.
4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the ECG component may be selectively trained to detect and transmit specific measurements.
5 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a printed circuit board capable of measuring electrical potential of the device.
6 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a display for displaying at least one measurement measured by at least one of the ECG component and the PO component.
7 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a temperature component configured to measure a user's temperature.
8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the communication component is one of a Bluetooth transmitter and an ultrasound transmitter.
9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the light emitter comprises red and infrared light emitting diodes.
10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the PO component further comprises a status indicator on the exterior surface of the ring body.
11 . A system for measuring and processing biometric data comprising:
a wearable biometric device comprising:
a ring body having interior and exterior surfaces;
an electrocardiogram (ECG) component comprising:
a first electrode coupled to the interior surface of the ring body; and
a second electrode coupled to the exterior surface of the ring body,
wherein a single lead ECG is formed upon contact with the first electrode and the second electrode;
a pulse oximeter (PO) component comprising:
a light emitter coupled to a first portion of the interior surface of the ring body; and
a photodetector coupled to a second portion of the interior surface of the ring body,
wherein the photodetector receives one or more signals transmitted by the light emitter; and
a communication component coupled to the ring body;
a monitor device comprising a processor, a memory, and a display; and a server comprising a processor and a memory, wherein the wearable biometric device is in communication with the monitor device and the monitor device is in communication with the wearable biometric device and the server.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the wearable biometric measurement device further comprises a temperature component configured to measure a user's temperature.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the monitor device is a smartphone or tablet.Cited by (0)
