Establishment of communication between devices

Abstract

A computer-implemented method to establish communication between devices is provided. The method may include obtaining a request for a communication session at a communication system from a first device. The request may include an identifier associated with the first device. The method may further include obtaining data associated with a user associated with the first device based on the identifier in the request. The data may include: a medical condition of the user and a location of the user. In response to obtaining the request, the method may include selecting a second device of multiple second devices associated with the communication system to participate in the communication session. The second device may be selected based on the medical condition of the user and a location of the user. The method also include establishing, by the communication system, the communication session with the selected second device.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A communication system comprising:
 one or more non-transitory media configured to store instructions;   one or more processors communicatively coupled to the one or more non-transitory media, the one or more processors configured to cause the communication system to perform operations in response to executing the instructions, the operations comprising:
 obtaining a request for a communication session at the communication system from a first device 
 obtain data associated with a user associated with the first device, the data including a medical condition of the user that was determined before obtaining the request for the communication session and independently of current vital signs of the user; 
 in response to obtaining the request, selecting a second device of a plurality of second devices associated with the communication system to participate in the communication session based on the medical condition of the user; and 
 establish the communication session with the selected second device. 
   
     
     
         2 . The communication system of  claim 1 , wherein the data further includes at least portions of transcripts of audio exchanged during previous communication sessions involving the first device that are established through the communication system, wherein the second device is selected based on the portions of the transcripts. 
     
     
         3 . The communication system of  claim 1 , wherein the data further includes one or more second devices that previously participated in a communication session with the first device, wherein the second device is selected based on the one or more second devices that previously participated in a communication session with the first device. 
     
     
         4 . The communication system of  claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise providing the medical condition of the user to the second device after selecting the second device. 
     
     
         5 . The communication system of  claim 1 , wherein selecting the second device is performed without receiving additional data from the first device besides the request for the communication session or other data from a device associated with the user of the first device. 
     
     
         6 . The communication system of  claim 1 , wherein the second device of the plurality of second devices is further selected based on a cost associated with health professionals associated with the plurality of second devices, wherein each of the plurality of second devices is associated with one health professional at a time. 
     
     
         7 . The communication system of  claim 1 , wherein the data further includes a location of the user and selecting the second device is based on the location of the user matching a geographical region of the selected second device. 
     
     
         8 . A computer-implemented method to establish communication between devices, the method comprising:
 identifying a first device based on a request for a communication session obtained at a communication system;   obtaining data associated with a user associated with the first device, the data including a medical condition of the user that was determined before obtaining the request for the communication session and independently of current vital signs of the user;   in response to obtaining the request, determining a second device associated with the communication system to participate in the communication session based on the medical condition of the user; and   establishing, by the communication system, the communication session with the second device.   
     
     
         9 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 8 , wherein the data includes the current vital signs of the user, the method further comprising prioritizing the communication session with respect to other requests for communication sessions based on the current vital signs of the user. 
     
     
         10 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 9 , wherein in response to obtaining the request and before determining the second device, the method further includes comparing the current vital signs of the user with one or more threshold vital signs, wherein in response to the current vital signs of the user being inside of the one or more threshold vital signs the second device is determined instead of routing the request for the communication session to an emergency response system. 
     
     
         11 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 8 , wherein the data further includes at least portions of transcripts of audio exchanged during previous communication sessions involving the first device that are established through the communication system, wherein the second device is determined based on the portions of the transcripts. 
     
     
         12 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 8 , wherein the data further includes one or more second devices that previously participated in a communication session with the first device, wherein the second device is determined based on the one or more second devices that previously participated in a communication session with the first device. 
     
     
         13 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 8 , wherein the request for the communication session from the first device does not designate the second device. 
     
     
         14 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 8 , wherein the data further includes a location of the user and the second device is determined based on the location of the user. 
     
     
         15 . One or more non-transitory media configured to store instructions that in response to being executed by one or more processors cause the communication system to perform the computer-implemented method of  claim 8 . 
     
     
         16 . A computer-implemented method to establish communication between devices, the method comprising:
 establishing, by a communication system, a first communication session between a first device and one of a plurality of second devices;   after termination of the first communication session, obtaining a request for a second communication session at the communication system from the first device;   obtaining data associated with a user associated with the first device, the data including a transcript of the first communication session, the transcript including information regarding a medical condition of the user or medical treatment received by the user;   in response to obtaining the request, selecting, by the communication system, a second device of the plurality of second devices associated with the communication system to participate in the second communication session that is different than the one of the plurality of second devices that participated in the first communication session, the second device selected based on the information in the transcript of the first communication session; and   establishing, by the communication system, the second communication session with the selected second device.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the data further includes one or more vital signs of the user, the method further comprising prioritizing the second communication session with respect to other requests for communication sessions based on the one or more vital signs of the user. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the data further includes a medical condition of the user obtained by the communication system before establishing the first communication session and selecting the second device is based on the medical condition of the user. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the data further includes a location of the user and selecting the second device is based on the location of the user. 
     
     
         20 . One or more non-transitory media configured to store instructions that in response to being executed by one or more processors cause the communication system to perform the method of  claim 16 .
