Multi-functional Composition and Preparation Method and Application Thereof

Abstract

A multi-functional composition is disclosed as well as the preparation method and applications thereof. The composition contains a marine algae-derived material and an enzyme inhibitor. The marine algae-derived material is one from the group consisting of natural algal saccharide, alginic acid and alginate or is a mixture of several of them. The enzyme inhibitor is an inhibitor to the enzyme decomposing the material derived from marine algae.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of treating or alleviating a condition or disease, comprising administering a multi-functional composition to a subject,
 wherein the multi-functional composition comprises a marine algae-derived material and an enzyme inhibitor to an enzyme, the enzyme inhibitor comprises validamycin, hexaconazole, or trehazolin, the percentage by mass of the enzyme inhibitor in the multi-functional composition is no lower than 0.001% and no higher than 0.02%, the marine algae-derived material is one selected from the group consisting of algal saccharide extract, alginic acid, alginate, and a mixture thereof, the enzyme is one decomposing the marine algae-derived material in gastrointestinal tract, and the enzyme inhibitor is a substance preventing the enzyme from exerting decomposing effects.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the multi-functional composition is used as at least one of a sugar substitute product for diabetics, a product for decreasing blood sugar, a product for defecation and gut purge, a slimming product, a beauty product, a product for ameliorating osteoporosis, a product for improving sleeping, a product for ameliorating menstrual disorder, and an anti-fatigue product. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the multi-functional composition is used for reducing body weight of the subject. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the multi-functional composition is used for decreasing blood sugar of the subject. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the subject is human. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the multi-functional composition is administered orally or gastrointestinally. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the multi-functional composition is a functional food or a medicine. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the multi-functional composition is in a form of pill, capsule, powder, granule or oral liquid. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the algal saccharide extract is trehalose, other algal polysaccharide or a mixture thereof. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the enzyme inhibitor further comprises 2R,5R-dimethylol-3R,4R-dihydroxy pyrrole, trehalostatin, Salbostatin, Suidatrestin, MDL25637, or a mixture thereof. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the alginate is one selected from the group consisting of sodium alginate, potassium alginate, calcium alginate and a mixture thereof. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the marine algae-derived material is alginic acid. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the algal saccharide extract further comprises aquo compounds or isomers of the algal saccharide extract. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the multi-functional composition is an aqueous solution. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the multi-functional composition is administrated once or twice daily. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the multi-functional composition is an aqueous solution comprising about 15 g of trehalose and about 3 mg of validamycin in 100 mL of water. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the multi-functional composition is administrated to a human subject once or twice daily. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the multi-functional composition is administrated to a human subject once daily every morning before the human subject has any other foods.
