Abstract
Systems and techniques are provided for electrical circuit switching. An electrical load may be connected to a voltage supply with current flow entering a first terminal of the electrical load. The electrical load may be disconnected from the voltage supply. The electrical load may be connected to ground such that the electrical load discharges. The electrical load may be connected to the voltage supply with current flow entering a second terminal of the electrical load. The electrical load may be disconnected from the voltage supply. The electrical load may be connected to ground such that the electrical load discharges.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
connecting an electrical load to a voltage supply with current flow entering a first terminal of the electrical load; disconnecting the electrical load from the voltage supply; connecting the electrical load to ground such that the electrical load discharges; connecting the electrical load to the voltage supply with current flow entering a second terminal of the electrical load; disconnecting the electrical load from the voltage supply; and connecting the electrical load to ground such that the electrical load discharges.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the method comprises a switching sequence.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising repeating the switching sequence one or more times.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the voltage supply supplies a DC current.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein connecting an electrical load to a voltage supply with current flow entering a first terminal of the electrical load comprises:
closing a first switch between a first terminal of the voltage supply and the first terminal of the electrical load; and closing a fourth switch between a second terminal of the electrical load and a second terminal of the voltage supply if the fourth switch is open.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein disconnecting the electrical load from the voltage supply comprises opening the first switch.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein connecting the electrical load to ground such that the electrical load discharges comprises closing a second switch between the first terminal of the electrical load and the second terminal of the voltage supply.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein connecting the electrical load to the voltage supply with current flow entering a second terminal of the electrical load comprises:
opening the fourth switch; and closing a third switch between the first terminal voltage supply and the second terminal of the electrical load.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein disconnecting the electrical load from the voltage supply comprises opening the third switch.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein connecting the electrical load to ground such that the electrical load discharges comprises closing the fourth switch.
11 . A device comprising:
an electrical load; a primary voltage supply; an intermediary voltage supply; a first switch connecting a first terminal of the primary voltage supply to a first terminal of the electrical load; a second switch connecting a first terminal of the intermediary voltage supply to the first terminal of the electrical load; a third switch connecting the first terminal of the electrical load to ground; a fourth switch connecting the first terminal of the primary voltage supply to a second terminal of the electrical load; a fifth switch connecting the first terminal of the intermediary voltage supply to the second terminal of the electrical load; and a sixth switch connecting the second terminal of the electrical load to ground.
12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the second terminal of the primary voltage supply is connected to ground.
13 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the second terminal of the intermediary voltage supply is connected to ground.
14 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the first terminal of the primary voltage supply is a positive terminal.
15 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the primary voltage supply supplies a DC current.
16 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the intermediary voltage supply comprises an energy storage device.
17 . The device of claim 11 , further comprising:
a second intermediary voltage supply; a seventh switch connecting a first terminal of the second intermediary voltage supply to the first terminal of the electrical load; and an eighth switch connecting the first terminal of the second intermediary voltage supply to the second terminal of the electrical load.
18 . The device of claim 17 , wherein the second intermediary voltage supply comprises an energy storage device.
19 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the electrical load comprises a capacitive load or a reactive load.Cited by (0)
