Telescoping device with saline irrigation line
Abstract
An electrosurgical device includes a first shaft defining a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen therethrough. A fluid delivery tube is disposed within the lumen, the fluid delivery tube defining a proximal end a distal end. An electrically conductive treatment element is in electrical communication with and coupled to the distal end of the first shaft, the electrically conductive treatment element includes a conductive fluid conduit in fluid communication with and affixed within a portion of the fluid delivery tube. A second shaft is in electrical communication with the first shaft, the first shaft being slideably disposed within the second shaft and movable from a first position in which the electrically conductive treatment element is proximate to the distal end of the second shaft to a second position in which the electrically conductive treatment element is advanced a distance away from the distal end of the second shaft.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An electrosurgical device, comprising:
a first shaft defining a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen there through; a glass coated electrically conductive treatment element in electrical communication with and coupled to the distal end of the first shaft; a second shaft in electrical communication with the first shaft, the first shaft being slideably disposed within the second shaft and movable from a first position in which the electrically conductive treatment element is proximate to the distal end of the second shaft to a second position in which the electrically conductive treatment element is advanced a distance away from the distal end of the second shaft, the second shaft including a conductor configured to conduct radiofrequency energy from a radiofrequency energy source; and a handle, the respective proximal ends of the first shaft and the second shaft being disposed within the handle.
2 . An electrosurgical device, comprising:
a first shaft defining a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen there through; a glass coated and sharp electrically conductive treatment element in electrical communication with and coupled to the distal end of the first shaft; a second shaft in electrical communication with the first shaft, the first shaft being slideably disposed within the second shaft and movable from a first position in which the electrically conductive treatment element is proximate to the distal end of the second shaft to a second position in which the electrically conductive treatment element is advanced a distance away from the distal end of the second shaft, the second shaft including a conductor configured to conduct radiofrequency energy from a radiofrequency energy source; and a handle, the respective proximal ends of the first shaft and the second shaft being disposed within the handle.Cited by (0)
