Cloud orchestration engine
Abstract
An orchestration engine that interfaces with the various clouds to implement the system solution. The orchestration engine builds, configures, and converges the single system solution. The orchestration engine builds the system by instantiating machines and services on the various clouds. The orchestration engine configures the system according to input from the client and the solution provider and then converges the various systems by establishing relationships and connections between the various services. Optionally, the orchestration engine also runs tests to verify that the system is working properly. Once the system has been built, configured and converged, the orchestration engine provides the client with a single entry point for using the system solution.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A non-transitory machine readable medium for storing a program, which when executed by at least one processing unit orchestrates an instantiation of a system solution on a plurality of clouds, the program comprising sets of instructions for:
instantiating one or more first components in a first cloud and instantiating one or more second components in a second cloud; installing and configuring software on at least one of the first cloud or the second cloud; and converging the first cloud and the second cloud such that at least one first component of the first cloud is configured to directly communicate with at least one second component of the second cloud.
2 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 1 , wherein instantiating one or more first components in the first cloud and one or more second components in the second cloud comprises instantiating one or more virtual machines on at least one of the first cloud or the second cloud.
3 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 2 , wherein installing and configuring the software comprises installing and configuring the software on the one or more virtual machines.
4 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 1 , wherein converging the first cloud and the second cloud comprises creating connections between the first cloud and the second cloud.
5 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 4 , wherein the connections are between a plurality of virtual machines instantiated on the first and second clouds.
6 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the sets of instructions comprise instructions for:
retrieving an installation script for installing software from a script repository; and wherein installing and configuring the software comprises using the installation script to install the software on a virtual machine on at least one of the first cloud or the second cloud.
7 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the sets of instructions comprise instructions for verifying that the at least one step of the instantiation of the system solution is completed successfully.
8 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the sets of instructions further comprise instructions for generating a blueprint, the blueprint comprising a plurality of steps for instantiating the system solution on the plurality of clouds.
9 . The non-transitory machine readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the sets of instructions further comprise instructions for:
receiving a request from a user for the system solution; and providing the user with access to the instantiated system solution.
10 . A computer-implemented method for orchestrating an instantiation of a system solution on a plurality of clouds, the method comprising:
accessing, by one or more computing devices, a blueprint associated with the system solution, the blueprint comprising a plurality of steps for instantiating the system solution on the plurality of clouds; building, by one or more computing devices, an infrastructure for the system solution by instantiating one or more first components in a first cloud and instantiating one or more second components in a second cloud; installing and configuring, by the one or more computing devices, software on at least one of the first cloud or the second cloud; and converging, by the one or more computing devices, the first cloud and the second cloud such that at least one first component of the first cloud is configured to directly communicate with at least one second component of the second cloud; wherein the building, installing and configuring, and converging are determined based at least in part on the blueprint.
11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein building the infrastructure comprises instantiating one or more virtual machines on at least one of the first cloud or the second cloud.
12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 11 , wherein installing and configuring the software comprises installing and configuring the software on the one or more virtual machines.
13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein converging the first and the second cloud comprises creating connections between the first cloud and the second cloud.
14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 , wherein the connections are between a plurality of virtual machines instantiated on the first and second clouds.
15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , further comprising:
receiving, by the one or more computing devices, a request from a user for the system solution; and providing, by the one or more computing devices, the user with access to the instantiated system solution.
16 . A computing system, comprising:
one or more processors; and one or more memory devices, the one or more memory devices storing computer-readable instructions that when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising: receiving a request from a user for a system solution; instantiating one or more first components in a first cloud and instantiating one or more second components in a second cloud; installing and configuring software on at least one of the first cloud or the second cloud; converging the first cloud and the second cloud such that at least one first component of the first cloud is configured to directly communicate with at least one second component of the second cloud; and providing the user with access to the system solution.
17 . The computing system of claim 16 , wherein building the infrastructure comprises instantiating one or more virtual machines on at least one of the first cloud or the second cloud.
18 . The computing system of claim 17 , wherein installing and configuring the software comprises installing and configuring the software on the one or more virtual machines.
19 . The computing system of claim 16 , wherein converging the first and the second cloud comprises creating connections between the first cloud and the second cloud.
20 . The computer-implemented method of claim 19 , wherein the connections are between a plurality of virtual machines instantiated on the first and second clouds.Cited by (0)
